From home in WA it only takes a few seconds on Comcast Cable

From work it takes well over 30 seconds on a T1. But this isn't consistant.
Sometimes the front page will load fine, its the articles that will take 30sec to a minute to load for each page.


 
2-4 seconds consistantly with mozilla 1.5 in linux with the latest linux flash installed.

Rochester, NY, Dual OC3 before most students are back 😉

in connecticut on cable.... in IE6sp1 background took less then a second to load, but the rest of the page and ads took 15+ seconds.

mozilla took less then 5 seconds
 
The main page is now FLYING up again.... as it used to.

Just under 4 seconds in Firebird. Side bar loads, main content loads, the right ads and stuff loads. I think for me it is just that it gets part of the table(s?) and sits there waiting for ad images and such before it starts working on the rest of it.
In IE it takes almost on 3 seconds, but scrolls very slowly compared to Firebird.
 
4 secs almost exactly (timed with a stopwatch) with a cleared cache on Mozilla Firebird 0.6.1 from upstate NY on Time Warner Cable (Road Runner)
 
East Coast Ohio Using Roadrunner cable. Sidebars load fast, main body takes a few extra seconds to load for a total of around 8 seconds load time.

Anyways, the site is a little faster now, not quite blazing, but it doesn't seem to stall in any particular place, it just loads from craploads of other sites.
 
MA with comcast cable. 9+ seconds, edging on over 10 if you count locating the site.

What you're going to do with CSS is going to INCREASE render time? or decrease?
 
Gack....I hardly ever visit the front page anymore because it so slow (I always wait for ppl to post links in the forum, or I get linked from /. when they post your article links).

1.8Mb Comcast Cable (and thru a wireless network) Chicago suburbs using Opera 7 it loads instantaneously.
 
Loads in about 4 secs for me. I'm using a 512 Kbps DSL right now so I can try out the ISP service. Since the first month is free I said why not. I like the service so much I'm going to upgrade it to 1.5 Mbps in Feb. Just have to wait for the free month to be over first to upgrade it.

At first I though my connection was acting u some. But then again all the other sites I go to loads up near instantaneously. There is one other site that loads slow for me and that is themexp.org. I go there now and then to get wallpapers for my computer.

Does themexp.org loads slow for anyone else here? Just asking of course. 😀
 
Here in Central Calif. on SBC DSL running 1.2Mbits downstream. Takes around 5 seconds with the cache cleared. Seems 2-3 seconds faster than it was last night.

i'm on the east coast, in connecticut. page loads the top 'toolbar'(anandtech image w/ cpu, it computing, motherboards, audio, etc links) almost instantly, and then takes about 10-15 seconds to load the rest of the page.
 
Well I am counting like 15 banner ads on the front page total.. Maybe if you add another 15-20 it will speed things up even more?

Despite the insane amount of ads, its still only taking me about 4-5 seconds in Wisconsin on cable.
