One thing that's clear is a high turnout. Any data on who that helps Dems? I remember hearing that but it'd be nice to see some data.

Here's my impression of the high turnout. Traditionally, that's meant a Demo win. However, the Republicans have also done a supurb job of turning out new registrants (like the dems) and, presumably new voters. I think the heavy turnout will only mean a SLIGHT plus for the Dems.

Zogby's latest indicates Bush with a lead in Ohio of 49% to Kerry's 43%. Maybe he's lost his touch this election?

Democrats have been pushing hard for early voting or voting by absentee so the fact that they don't have enough to counter the .mil vote in Ohio may indicate a trend.

We will see.

And, the large cities will be posting their results very late. Cleveland, Akron, Canton, they will go Democrat by huge margins. More than ten points. So, I would expect an early Bush lead. If Bush gets a huge early lead he will take the state. If not, he will probably lose, IMHO.

Ohio is my home state, though I was born in Colorado.

Ohio?s Secretary of State is posting results of what I imagine are early votes and absentee ballots and so far President Bush is leading by the slimmest of margins:

Bush: 49.87% with 800,950 votes.
Kerry: 49.12% with 788,799 votes

Yup, whoever takes Ohio will be sitting pretty. I think Kerry's got it by a very slim margin...

I know it's foolish to call this race early, but you gotta hand it to Bush and Rove for almost pulling this one off this year. I mean for a president with a record as catastrophic as Bush's is, it's damn near amazing that the race is this freaking close.

We defeated communism in the 90s, lets hope it gets defeated again in 2004.

If not, I hope for another revolution; a war between the left and the right.

It was, among other things, ridiculous taxes and attempted confiscation of guns that led to the revolution in 1776. I'd like to see just how far Kerry gets in the event he does get elected.

If all the bad things associated with Kerry do take effect, I for one, will withdrawl from all automatic deductions from my paycheck and continue paying the same taxes I pay now, or less. If they want the rest, they can feel free to come door to door and collect it. I have my own goals to to attain and my own future family to provide for, I do not need to be paying medical bills for illegals and social screw ups so they can afford to drive Escalades.

Nothing is more important in life than the freedom to decide for yourself what is valuable to you, be it money or otherwise. If you would give up your money, your house, your car, your job, your family, your rights, or anything else you work hard for just to live a day longer, you are both a slave and a fool. What is the point of living if you allow someone else by law (unconstitutional government practices) or by force (terrorism) to decide how you live your life?

To me this election isn't ALL about terrorism. That is a universal threat that has to be dealt with no matter what, and failing to acknowledge it for what it is by coming up with excuses to justify their barbaric behavior is even more dangerous than the problem itself. I don't feel that Bush is handling the problem in the best way possible, but I'm not going to let that decide my vote.

Instead, I focus on this election in the context of Communism (or 'socialism' or 'welfare' if you like to candy coat it) VS. Capitalism here at home in the United States, and the direction this country will take economically and politically in the future.

There is more at stake in this election than Osama bin Laden and Iraq...
