I've found the Hispanics voting overwhelmingly for Kerry, at least in my district. We interviewed about 60 Hispanic families and 47 of them are what we call STRONG Kerry supporters. I think a lot of Hispanics see their people dying in Iraq and are very distressed about it. A lot of these young Hispanic boys join the military to get ahead-smart move-but then get sent to Iraq-Bush's dumb move-and end up getting wounded or killed. One woman's nephew was killed in Iraq she told me and it was all I could to stand there with a clear eye. I could not imagine telling a mother her son had been killed in that God forsaken war....

No, I missed that, but I tell people who tell me they are Republican to be certain to vote anyway because Democracy is always a winner. Everyone should play the game in my view. I'm even taking a Republican guy to the polls tomorrow to vote. He's a 'Nam vet. I met him last week when I was campaigning and I promised to get him. He's got two purple hearts by the way. He's living in a rat's den too....Very, very sad to see our vets come to that.

This is my first time voting, and I'd hate to waste it just to vote against someone. Fvck the parties, if Bush wins he wins. Kerry wins, we still have a douche running the country. I just hope enough people vote 3rd parties this election or at least realize how worthless the other two are and that there are other options for '08. Could this possibly be the dawn of a third party? I think a legit moderate party could gain a lot of ground on the dissatisfaction with the current system.

There is good news for you in Florida. A plurality of new voters did not register with either party. I do see us edging more towards coalition government. We actually have a de facto kind of coalition government with Bush. I mean, most of those main line Republicans from NY and Delaware and Rhode Island have very little except party name in common with the right wing Christians.

For those of you who are betting, here is some advice from Dr. Wang :)

Yeah i kind of had that problem. luckily go CA is going to Kerry XD At the same time tho, i really don't htink third parties can ever get in...the closest was T.R. Bull Moose Party, but even he failed at grabbing the whitehouse even after a presidency under his belt~ The way it is, its just too rigid-->if a third party wnats to bring up an issue then they can be successful. but if they want a spot next to the "big boys" that is just impossible~

our party system in the country is an oligopoly...lets get used to it

Nah, that's the thing. Why should we "get used to it"? Do we not control our own government? Being too inflexible and keeping out any other parties seems to be somewhat dangerous to me. Maybe I'm just a paranoid tin foil hat wearing loon though, I dunno.

"Kerry 35.9%-58.8% chance of getting (>=270) electoral votes 38.75%-61.7% Bush chance of getting (>=270) electoral votes
2.4%-2.7% chance that Congress will choose President"

We have 15 counties with electronic balloting, I think. So, let's hope not. Punch card balloting is outlawed in Florida, so we won't have Chad hanging around this time. :)
