It would be nice to see someone not take the settlement for once and demand an admission of wrongdoing and public apology instead...

But I wouldn't turn down 1.6 mil either.

Yeah, admission of guilt is nice, but $1.6M is $1.6M. I don't think he'd get much more than that in a trial, plus you need to consider legal expenses.
 
Damn, that's a nice payday. So the next time I get pulled over for running a stop sign, I guess I will stick my finger up my butt a few times and see where it all leads to I guess. Better odds than buying a lotto ticket.
