I felt the Earth rumble. That isn't all that uncommon, but there are no recent Earthquakes of any size on the USGS site.

Must be another blast at one of the nearby quarries.

I'll never understand the whole bit of subscribing to and paying for TV. I did it for a while ... satellite to get channels not available otherwise. But it was all the same stuff over and over again and with ads. I saw no value in it and shut it down.

Yet people continue to do it.

That reminds me of my 30+ minute call when I wanted to cancel Dish. They kept on offering me a lower and lower rate, and I kept explaining that I'm just not interested in paying for TV anymore.

It was 8 or 9 years ago, but I sort of remember that. I finally had to start almost chanting turn it off, turn it off, turn it off, turn it off .... before they finally got the message.

I keep seeing a dragonfly, past several days. I assume it's the same one, but could be a different one. It lands on a tall object, like the fence or stakes on my summer crop plants, then flys off, makes a ~2' circular flight path, then lands in the same spot again, multiple times. I can only assume it is eating the no-see-umms (gnats) that are thick as can be this time of year.

Problem is, I can see those gnats in the evening when the sun is at a low angle and it makes me want to hold my breath outside, don't want to inhale a few hundred of them. I guess I could wear a mask, but I've survived so far without one. It's the thought of it, I suppose. Bugs don't belong in my lungs.

My mother does, she mostly watches the old reruns only available (AFAIK, there was resistance in my bothering to check on this) on the basic/middle CATV plan. I couldn't list all of them, things like Columbo, Golden Girls, Murder She Wrote.

I could *acquire* every episode of some of those and throw them on a flash drive and send to her to watch on her computer or TV, but she finds my instructions how to, too complex, just wants to grab a remote, do no more than poke a channel # rather than wading through menus, and devote the scheduled air time to watch them. It's like a ritual, free up a certain time of the day to watch XYZ. She has had a VCR for decades and DVR is an option too, but is one step too many to bother with. I do get it, resistance to learning new things instead of falling into original habits learned about watching TV.

I was impressed when she realized she could catch up on soap opera episodes she missed by going online to their website.

Some guy came by (door to door solicitor) and wanted over $1000 to trim the shrubs. It's not a whole day job, no ladders or special equipment needed. Ridiculous.

I just had one of the best Mango milkshakes in my life. It was so thick that I "ate" it with a tablespoon. Immediately after finishing it, I got a craving to go and get another one. But I resisted it and now about 10 minutes later, the craving is gone. I think this nonsensical post-eating craving is the reason why some people keep on getting obese and can't lose weight. Thus proven that patience really is a virtue worth the mental effort required to overcome the urge to be hasty for immediate gratification of epicurean desires.

Problem is that the "full" feeling in your stomach takes a bit to "kick in" and tell your brain that you've had enough.

That's why it's always a good idea to eat a smaller portion then take a short break before having any "seconds".

They use almost powdery refined table sugar. I've seen large sugar crystals made from sugar cane that's more natural. And Mango wouldn't have the sugar compound anyway. It has glucose/fructose and some other sugars. Not as bad as the compound one that has to be broken up by the body.

I just got my tongue digested by pineapple juice. First time this has happened. Normally, eating pineapple does that.

Carbohydrates that are insulin-stimulating will make cravings regardless of the source being natural or "refined".

I fancy potatoes and tomatoes myself. Rice, Noodles. My body knows it and the "rush" is real.

They keep pushing these 0% balance transfer offers on me. But they all have 3-5% fees on them. And they don't know that all of my current balances are already on 0% terms.

Been watching a lot of star trek lately, and I wonder why they never installed 6point harnesses at every duty station? Could probably use them in the quarters also. People are always flying over the consoles and hitting their heads on shit. How the hell do you even fly a ship using a touchpad while you're lurching all over the place? "FUCK!! I just fatfingered the console and dumped the warp core!".

Also, what's up with sparks always coming out the consoles? Is China *still* making stuff in the 24th century?

Cool picture. Reading through comments seemed like it might not be photoshopped because Cairo is near the pyramids.

"Congratulations! Your recent transaction of $16.65 at Big Lots is eligible for $0.83 in rewards through our Upgrade Shopping program powered by Dosh®. You don’t need to do a thing, you’ll receive your rewards after the transaction is final. "

I don't know what to say. I'm speechless. I could buy ... like ... a sip of coffee.
