Yeah they are and unlike Boise State they actually have some decent wins. Most of the other teams they have played are pretty bad though.

Hell, I'd root for them since my team's coach has his head so far up his ass he can't see that his qb is throwing twice as many interceptions as he is TD's and his offensive coordinator makes Larry, Moe and Curly look like the 3 Wise Men in comparison. In his own words "This is embarrasing". Hell, I can't even root for my second favorite team because their coach insists on playing that retard, Rix.

Utah is the underrated team this year. They KILLED North Carolina by over 3 touchdowns and NC knocked off Miami and almost won yesterday. They also beat Texas A&M by 3 touchdowns and A&M shoulda beat Oklahoma. Their win margin is 25 points! The second rated offense in the nation and their defense is up there too..Cmon they are awesome!

the a&m team they beat is not the same a&m team that gave OU all it could handle.

I think an 8 team playoff would be best. 4 rounds is too many, 2 too few. I think 3 is just right. But then you will have just as much controversy about who gets into the top 8. Unlike basketball, where even mediocre teams have a chance, that competiton for 7-8 by the top 10-15 teams in the country will be imense.

Name me more than 8 teams that should have a shot at the national title this year?

USC, Oklahoma, Auburn, Wisconsin, Utah, Georgia, Cal & Virginia

You might question the last choice however...the top 5 teams in the ACC have a combined 12-1 record outside of the conference with the 1 loss coming to a game in which the refs essentially gave the game to USC. All and all, excluding Duke of course...there are really no easy games for any of the teams who play in conference.

After the game though he said he was still undecided who would start against NC State...😕

If Utah doesn't get a bcs bid it will prove the bcs is a crock. Utah doesn't have the hardest schedule but they have the best prospect coach in the nation and the hottest QB in the nation. (Alex Smith has a 12-1 TD to INT ratio) And they have a 26 point average margin of victory.

He has the highest QB rating in the nation at 179.8. Has run for almost 500 yards himself and has run for 8 touchdowns. 66% completion, 24 touchdowns, 2 ints. I really dont understand why he isnt being considered as a stronger candidate for the heisman.

I dont know the exact number but we had ~ 20 fish/rs fish playing in their first college game, experince has made us a much better team now, not saying we would beat utah but there no way we would lose like that again. We had OU too, stupid 3 turnovers in the first 5 minutes of the second half doomed us..... plus losing reggie mcneal hurt too.

when did Utah play A&M...2 months ago?

first game of the year?

at Utah?

yes, i know i am right.

We'll find out how good Auburn really is this weekend. A talented UGA team is coming to town, it's a heated rivalry (this will be the 107th meeting between AU & UGA), and the series is an odd one with the home team usually losing. I really expect Auburn's seniors to carry the day though since it is their last game at Jordan-Hare Stadium. War Eagle!

Bottom line. Utah SMOKED A&M. It was 27-0 at one point and it should have been 41-14 but Utah let A&M score a trash TD with the scrubs in.

Agreed. I'm not saying A&M didnt get better - like other posters said - they had a lot of freshmen and inexperience but you dont get OWNED like they did from a mediocre team. It was so one sided I only watched parts of the second half.

I will say my biggest frustration is that Utah doesnt have a really strong team to play against to prove themselves so they would get taken more seriously. I would love to see them play USC because they are both offense oriented teams.

Look at Rothlesburger. He didn't get really any Heisman loving but he's on track to be the best rookie the NFL has ever seen.

Heisman = crap

Judging by they way Wisconsin is playing, and the relative ease of the remainder of their schedule, I would say that they will win out the seaon. It would truely suck if they went the whole season undefeated, only to lose to Iowa.

Fixed for you. 🙂

Copy and paste of my post from last year's threads.

I'd like to see an 8 team playoff (actually it is a 16 team playoff - but not all winners of the first game advance - if you think about it).

1) A regular season is 12 games.
2) All conferences have a conference championship game. This will affect a few teams, but most either won't make it there, or already have a conference championship game.
3) The conference champion is guaranteed a playoff game IF they finish in the top 10 of the BCS (this number may be adjusted slightly, top 15 would work as well). Thus no conference is favored - and all conferences have a chance of getting into the playoffs if they can be in the top 10 (no unfair conferences with no good teams getting an automatic bid).
4) There are 8 playoff teams. Most likely step #3 will define ~5 of them leaving ~3 wildcards. These wildcards can be any team from any conference. Heck all the wildcards could be from one conference if need be. The wildcards will be selected by the top BCS teams that didn't get an automatic bid from step #3.
5) The quarter finals will be used in the minor bowls in mid December (and rotated yearly). The semi finals and the final will be in the major BCS bowls in late December and early January (also rotated yearly). This will require only 3 major bowls, and the rose bowl when not the national championship game can revert to a pac-10/big-10 bowl. The remaining minor bowls can play teams that don't make it to the playoff system.

Benefits:
1) This changes very little of the current system,
2) It keeps the conferences and independants as they are,
3) It doesn't add many games to many teams. Only the top teams get one or two extra games. The teams in the national championship game will only play 16 games, teams that make it to the semi finals will only play 15, teams that make it to the quarter finals only play 14.
4) It doesn't lengthen the season past the first few days of January.
5) It is the most fair solution I can think of. Plus if you can't win your conference championship, you really can't claim to be screwed if you just miss the top 8 teams.
6) The bowl system is still largely intact with only a few minor changes.

Hawks play the Badgers in Iowa City. Hawks haven't lost at home in 2 years.

It's going to be a hell of a game.
