Maybe the nvidiots are on a roll right now, but I'm sure there was plenty of nvidia bashing during the nv30 days, although I dont think Ati is in such a bad position now as nvidia was back then. It's just that with the release of the 512gtx and all the hype surrounding it, it's easy to get carried away. Then if next month Ati releases an XT PE, the same people will start whining how it's overpriced, short supply, draws a lot of power, doesnt kill the gtx in every benchmark by 200%, and doesnt walk your dog for you.
Every company has it's ups and downs, and while the r520 is too little too late, that's just one generation of cards, and even now I dont think it's performing at its full potential. The r580 should be released on schedule, and then we'll be doing this all over again, while the current latest and greatest cards wil lstart to look like dinosaurs that cost $600+ just months ago.
