Hmm, this is interesting. I can't seem to find the power cables for my computer. 🙁 Power cable gnomes--who knew they would get me so far from the Alaskan home.

I suppose I will ignore this while I go to the recylcling center, and I will ignore later while "bludgeoning the weeds."*

You should be a reporter compudog... then again, we'd all just ignore your stories in this thread anyway! 😉

/Ignore

I am SO GOOD at ignoring this thread.

I have put my special ignoring threads on.

/Ignore ON

Wow! sure is alot of I's in here LOL I think the "I"gnores have it

Damn gnomes. My wife's computer is on, but she is one long ethernet cable short of getting online, and my machine has internet, but it's short one cable for getting power.

*goes to find the offending gnomes and/or the cables they are hiding*

If you need cables, let me know. I have a few hundred power cables around here somewhere. I think I have a few cases of network cables too.

Hooray for found-again-power cables. Recetly I have moved - and of course the box with the power cables was "lost" (in spite of labels, Important-sign, etc.) I found the box two days later: since it was labeld "Important" the movers had left it in their truck and taken it to their office (some 30 miles away) "to keep it safe". '
LoL.

All my cables--- Ethernet, power, USB, printer, and audio--- are in a jumble behind my desk and bookcase.

I call that area The Briar Patch because that's where all the dust bunnies hang out.

LOL, that's a very appropriate name for the desk posterior, Rudy. Mine is clean because I just brought everything home and hooked it up, but I'm sure it will be a dust underworld by the end of the summer. 😱

But not *officially* like RaySun2Be!

I'm officially ignoring this thread while migrating from an old Compaq server running SBS 2000 to a newer server that will be running SBS 2003. It's going to be a long weekend at work, folks. :Q

I hope you got the server migrated and your whole weekend hasn't been ruined!

Thanks, but it hasn't been going as well as I'd hoped. Ran into some issues with applying required patches on the old server before migration, and that took a long time to resolve. Finally found an obscure Microsoft doc that had a fix that worked. The doc wasn't even for the same issue.

So all the prep work was done yesterday, and the migration starts today. Didn't get in until a few minutes ago due to some family duties I had to take care of.

I'm expecting it to be a long day. One nice thing, up until the point of changing the local domain and exchange server on all the PCs, I can easily revert back to using the old server, if I have to.

So now I'm off to do the migration, and back to officially ignoring this thread. 🙂

Yay, cables were found. The gnomes hid lizardth's cable in with our laundry, and my power cable was hidden in with Liz's hair straightener. 😕 Damn gnomes.
