Email is still down. :( All attempts via Microsoft processes have failed. Now re-installing Veritas backup (which I had to un-install to make room for the service packs and patches as part of the conversion process) so I can attempt to restore from backup.

Fortunately, I have a spam filter server in between the 'net and the Exchange server, which caches emails if the Exchange server is down. So we won't lose any emails being sent in (most are spam anyway

All I need is to get the #**(&#$^#*&$^ Exchange server up long enough to extract the email information as part of the conversion. :|

To bad my sons shotgun was stolen. I think I would borrow it to help "recycle" the old server once the conversion is finally done.

/Back to officially ignoring this thread since 11/21/06.

It's after 3am and I'm officially ignoring this thread while still trying to revive my exchange server. It's looking more like I will have to reinstall exchange. The store/db are fine.

Is that server change still going as planned, or no? I remember you saying that it might take some time... Just wondering if it has taken longer than expected, or if it is still within that timeframe.

NIce sig BTW.

No, it's not going as planned at all. I was preparing to migrate my SBS2000 server to a new box and SBS2003 server, when the Exchange server took a dive. That was late Sunday night, and despite my best efforts, it's still down.

The frustrating part is all I needed was for it to work long enough to export the mailbox information so I could load it onto the new server.

I've built a server and loaded a standalone copy of Exchange Enterprise on it, and I've got the store up and running on it. Just can't get to the mailboxes.

But the original sbs2000 server is still fubared. It looks like it will take a re-install to fix it. if I can get the other server working where I can pull the info out, I won't have to reinstall.

/back to ignoring, I think the server reboot is done.

haha. Should that have been preceded by "in my younger years"? LOL I sure did have a good time in Canada. It was a great first port visit on my first deployment.

 to good memories. (And per the conversation, I didn't give anything away).

Of course! Although the moat seems a bit lower than usual. The trout are swimming funny, and the people are walking funny.

Some time back I told all my friends that my phone was listed under Rudy Toody.

Today, I asked my friend Mike why he hadn't called. He said he couldn't find my number.

I said it's right there under Rudy Toody.

He said he'd been looking under Fuddy Duddy!
