Yes, we are basically getting a government of Fox News propagandists who have never had to do anything meaningful in their lives except bloviate about how bad Democrats are. They are going to fuck stuff up, potentially in huge ways.
It's very much like South Korea - a government elected that has totally cooked its brain on right wing internet bullshit.

They are already on Fox implying DEI might have caused the crash. Guess they should fire all the black/brown people at the FAA just to be safe.

A cast of total incompetents are being put into place across the top levels of the government. Naturally this is going to result in the freak show we are seeing in terms of responses but later it will start piling up a body count. Perhaps a really large one.
Poor US... if those dissasters continue, the US will suffer in terms of security and image.

Meanwhile...

This is a f**ing dissaster. A big part of the team (Boston one) died. Has the same impact as the Chapecoense plane crash or the 1987 Alianza Lima plane crash .

Fire a bunch of qualified FAA employees and just leave it to the white guys.

We now have the Trump crash. This is just the beginning in this country.

Duffy is married to Fox's Rachael Campos Duffy. From an entirely different season of Real World than the DoT secretary.

Yes, he married Puck's sidepiece.

Trump acts just like Putin does in the war against Ukraine... Republicans shows that they are no longer part of a democracy.

Trump blamed FAA/ATC hires who are non-white, with dwarfism, missing limbs and wheelchairs. Seriously, fuck that guy. Way to single out people with disabilities. Who was flying the helicopter?
Wtf?? Didn't ATC explicitly warn the helicopter about the incoming plane?

What else were they supposed to do??? Be Superman and whisk the plane away to safety?

The theory on r/aviation is that there were two planes coming in and ATC warned the Army helicopter about the plane coming in and it turned and flew behind the front one and didn't see the other coming up behind it.

At this point, that's the only first pass guess. He saw the wrong plane, was wearing night vision goggles which restrict peripheral vision.

I have been reading that this Airport has been asked for and needed to be shutdown and moved for many years. What has been stopping the move has been Congress as it is more convenient for them to fly in and out of Washington DC.

Also way too much light clutter which makes it hard to determine what you are looking at.

I saw an aviation crash expert that stated that the collision avoidance is turned off below 1,000 Feet.

Remember when in 2017 the aviation industry had its safest year on record and Herr Trump took credit for it even though he and his administration had done NOTHING that year to affect the industry? Pepperidge Farms remembers.
