Well...in 73, Nixon was president...and Republican presidents are NEVER at fault for things that happen during their administrations.

Carter wasn't the president in 1973 and Trump is also not the current President. So I don't know what they have to do with anything.

And here I am, over 900 miles from home. Will have to drive home beginning of next week. Not looking forward to the gasoline situation.

Yeah, if someone had bombed that pipeline it'd have less impact and it's get a real response. I don't get why we completely ignore cyber warfare attacks.

Not saying we need to roll tanks, but we shouldn't keep ignoring these attacks.

You need funding for this. Seems the problem is that it is probably easier to get Congress to fund a new weapons system that can be manufactured across a dozen districts and make for nice ribbon cutting than it would be to get some funding for something more shadowy and less tangible.

I think it's increasingly been this way for decades, just more FYGM with a bit of NIMBYism tossed in for good measure.

People now are simply bolder and prouder (aka louder) than ever before about their, 'fuck-your-face-and-your-feelings' attitudes.

It use to mostly be hidden or concealed among family and close friends, but these dumb c*nts are actually proud of their brashness and intentional ignorance, and it seems they think that they cannot scream it loudly enough.

It feels like political vitriol is hanging in the air all across the country.

I was thinking more along the lines of public state department actions.
 
This is why I always keep 2 5 Gal cans full in my garden shed. Its also why I have a 36 pack of TP on a shelf in my basement, it been there a decade +
After the power outage in 2005 in the NE that lasted a couple of weeks I took prepping more seriously with young kids at home.
I'm not storing 5 gallon buckets of wheat but I make sure we aren't on the last squeeze or drop of stuff, that there is a backup on a shelf somewhere.

Too many people take this just in time inventory for granted and not enough redundancy and resiliency built into their lives IMO
 
My brother used to work in that area for a while at the agency. Definitely not his forte. Left that job, due an apparent lack of interest from above (Trump admin). Just saying. Now he orients new hires. He takes them to Arlington Cemetery to give them a idea of what they are up against.

Uhm, gasoline won't keep for 10 years, unless you have it in a hermetically sealed container (preferably with 0% ethanol).

StaBil can extend the shelf life of gas, at least several years in a tightly sealed container.

Had a big limb fall during a storm last month. Just left it, and grandson came be and said he would cut it up. Told him my saw hasn't been started in at least 2 years, and he would likely need to dump what was in it and put in fresh mix. The saw started on the second pull, with the gas in the tank. I always put StaBil in gas when I buy it.

Stored gasoline lasts about 3-6 months, so you'd better be discarding and re-filling at least 2x per year.
 
Put in $10 monday PM just to be safe, I never drive far. This AM I did notice several staions that were out on the way to work but during the drive home about 1/2 were re-opened already.

Man, back in '73 I was cleaning up!, I only had my license a few months prior, what they did was turned to odd/even rationing, the last digit on your tag determined what days you could buy fuel. Since all the gas stations had my HS buddies working in them I came up with a plan, most of my neighbors had two cars, after school I would take the one they were not using and go and illegally get them gas for which they paid me $5 to do so. Doesn't sound like a lot, but I did about 4-5 cars a day and $25 in '73 was a nice little bit of cash for doing next to nothing. At the end of the week I'd grease my 3 buddies $15 each so everyone made something.
