Father: lawyer
Mother: insurance agent

Where someone goes to college, knucklehead, does not make them a better person. Being smart does not make someone a respectable or good human being.

please emphasize the phrase "Being smart does not make someone a respectable or good human being."

What I don't understand is... YOU saw the cop, YOU saw him turnaround, but YOU sped up again even though YOU KNEW he was behind you...??!!

AND you believed your friends though you knew he had to be there somewhere???

if you're not concerned, then why the hell did you ask for advice in the first place? it sounds like your parents can give you plenty of advice, better than ours.

That explains it all. Another smart assed, snot nosed kid, who thinks someone will be there to handle it for him. Enjoy your false sense of security. I have a son, whose friend has a father who is a lawyer. He thought he was immune to everything. It caught up to him big time.

BTW, insurance agents have no control over your rates, as they sell and service insurance policies, not set the rates.

I scored well over any entrance requirements for any Ivy League school, including Yale, Harvard, MIT, Reed, etc. However I learned early that Ivy League schools generally offer much poorer education than other institutions, like Fine Arts schools. This is because these Ivy Leagues exist due to the backing of the very establishment you are rebelling against.

I can talk circles around Yalites becasue they are brainwashed with only the accepted material and views and are never challenged to step beyond what is offered...indeed they are punished for original thought (unless it makes a buck).

As for intelligence it depends how you mean. If you mean overall intellect then it's very probable...many people have a broader range of knowledge than I. If you mean raw standardized IQ scores, well it's possible, but would be very rare as I score rather high on those. Either way intelligence is not what we're talking about here. What we're discussing is maturity and personal responsibility - and any back woods redneck moron can possess those qualities (and they often do).

i'm sure your parents won't mind the "free" advice. I'm sure they know by now since you are consulting with your father. I just can't believe your nonchalant attitude toward this situation. Most ppl would be like, I DID SOMETHING WRONG, PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE. Your saying that you did something wrong and you don't care cuz you will win. Um...you may not "get big hit", but who knows. Maybe the judge woke up on wrong side of bed and will really, really put the smackdown.

well, wish you best of luck and maybe have a different attitude toward this situation

I am nonchalant about the situation because EVERY time I have ever been faced with any kind of legal charges, they fade dramatically from their original intensity. Ive had possession of stolen goods charges reduced to a seatbelt violation for christ sake. Hell, @ orientation this year down @ FSU, I threw a party in the dorm, and it got busted by pigs. Needless to say, all charges were dropped, and I have to pay a small fine. God bless capitalism.

Hey Alastor, i just read the part about your mom and dad's professions. I take back that bit about pimping your mom for quarters.....

...

...

no one in their right mind would pay .25 cents for an insurance agent...especially one sullied by contact with a lawyer.

God Bless the people who dedicate their lives to eradicating capitalism.

one day, it will come back to haunt you...

count your blessings...

sad thing is, your proud you can get away with all this. Property of stolen possession? O man, good thing the owner didn't come back to get what was rightfully his/hers.

One important fact to remember is that just because your radar detector didn't go off does not mean the cop didn't have a certified method of calculating your speed. There are other technologies than radar and the police have used them to catch people using detectors. My guess is that if the cop wrote down a specific speed on your ticket, he can back it up in court.

And on the other discussion about not stopping for bike cops, well you can outrun that bike but I don't think you will beat his radio.

I agree with everyone else - you're a dumbass. Grow up, you were speeding, you SAID you were speeding, pay the fine.

It's not our fault you weren't smart enough to keep going 45 after someone you thought was a cop did a U-turn and started following you.

Speed limits were designed with safety as the first priority. Cars have gotten safer, so speed limits should increase as well. Its simple logic I think even my cat would understand (and he licks himself all day).

Damn, this guy is smart! Although he really doesn't even sound old enough to drive.

Just because your K-Mart radar didn't go off doesn't mean he didn't clock you. Some state troopers and police use advanced radar like prolite 3 which your radar isn't going to pick up. The cop probably tailgated you, looked down at the speedometer, and thats how he got your speed. The fact you had a radar detector will add even more to the fact you had an intent to speed. Don't be a f*ckin idiot, pay your ticket and move on.

EDIT:: I meant to say advanced LASER

Speeding is a ho-hum routine event. No need to say it is great, no need to bash it.

Go to court, get a plea bargain, take it. I had a 22 over the limit reduced to a 5 over the limit. No points, just a $95 fine. "Win-win" for both parties. They got their fine and quota, I got off with almost unnoticable financial damage.

I think everyone's missing the point. Even though this is Off-Topic, this is like that guy who ranted against every nationality outside the US.

In other words....
