The issue here isn't personal attacks. We can all handle and dish out personal attacks. Harvey can attack with the best of them.

The issue is that Harvey moderates with a political bias. He doesn't like a poster, he finds a way to ban them (long list of examples). He doesn't like a thread, he locks it. He makes up the rules as he goes, and he is the only mod that does so. Harvey used to do it with wild abandon when mods were anonymous, he backed off some with the "new rules", and now he's back at it again.

The second issue is that he knows Derek won't do anything about it, he won't even respond to users concerns. Which is why Harvey feels confident in saying "you don't like it, complain to Derek".

It had nothing to do with that. But since you guys are imagining reasons why, I'll tell you exactly what I told alchemize in my PM to him to ease your fears.

He had a quote in his sig that had profanity. The contents of his post were of no consequence to me at the time. The sig was incendiary and I moved the whole post while alchemize fixed his sig.

In fact, I'll move his post back here again since the sig was fixed.

thats one of my big complaints. if we are going to have someone who is sopposed to be between us and the mods how about its someone who is around more then once a year?

Stirring shit would be setting up situations for Harvey to get himself into trouble. I'm simply commenting on the way he's acting. Remember, he harassed and called me names the entire time I was involved here. I think I have the right to comment when he does it to others.

Derek responded to me within 10 minutes when I had a complaint about a mod last week. I won't go into details, but I appreciated how thorough he was, and the way he explained things to me.

If I were to make one comment, it is that this place is over-moderated. To me if that were addressed, it would get rid of a ton of complaints like this.

Pretty good call on my part, knowing you would be PMing me to have a conversation I'm not interested in having. I refuse to discuss any of my fellow Moderators behind their backs, via PM, with any member. What I will say is that you either don't understand or recognize the tremendous contributions Harvey has made to these forums, both behind and in front of the scenes over the years. At times he had little or no support, but yet he's worked his ass off for us. I think your calling for his firing is out of line and I have no further comment.

Oh yeah, and Harvey is now defending his threat by claiming that Ackmed threatened him. Can't decide whether Harvey is just a chickenshit liar or simply delusional. Either way, character guy that is.......OK well not.

So in your opinion it doesn't matter how abusive Harvey is toward the posting membership and how often he abuses his moderator status, its OK with you because of ancient history. Nice.

Since no one here can act on this and Derek has been notified, this thread has served it's purpose and ought to be locked.

Well, there are times when he is busy I'm sure. One time it took him a week or so to get back to me, but he was out of country or something. Just give him some patience. He's good and does not deserve all the flak he gets.

Its easy to tell, I called him out on his lie and *poof*, that portion of my reply was gone, leaving only a botched quote attributed to the wrong poster and his not so witty comeback. Alas, another mod could easily tell who made the edit.......
 
Well, Derek has a record of which mod edited what, plus a copy of the original text, so don't worry about it, I'm sure he'll deal with things accordingly.

You guys are complaining about edits on a single post. What would you do if they deleted 30 of them?

I was commenting on your late, dp.

While I have never seen the Admin side, I know Mods can't see what was deleted but they can see who edited what.
