Then my mom says we are paying 80 dollars for this "service"....

That says it all.

I am 17, and currently trying to get a job, you can't necessarily sign everything until you are 18 😱

You are a tard, and I am probably farther in my life than you ever will be.

You're 17, live with your parents, jobless, and have a couple of community college IT courses under you belt. You're right. 99% of the people here at ATOT can't best your stakes of lack of property ownership, lack of education, lack of experience, lack of employment, and lack of self-sufficiency.

So you are saying at the age of 17 you are worthless? Is it wrong to live with your parents just after high school? That is the vibe I get from your posts. You can't sign a legally binding contract until you are 18 or emancipated, so your argument on lack of property ownership is null. I choose my jobs wisely, I wish to further my already vast IT career and pick jobs that will give me more experience than I have, something a easily available fast food job.

I'm just saying, you really should start considering thinking about what you say before you open your mouth. Because as hard as it may be, I'm going to put my money on the old hippy being farther along in life than your punk ass.

I started working summers when I was 14. I'm now 55, and have been retired @ 2 years. You're already 3 years of real life behind me, and I'm sure I've forgotten more than you'll ever know.
If you don't believe me, ask your Mom.

Geez get over yourself you'll be a lot happier in the long run.

How long does it take to reboot and reseat some cables and pretty much anything else they want to do. <5 mins based on how awesome a computer tech you are, heck even reinstalling a driver shouldn't put it over 5 mins. Just let them do their job and relax a little, 90% of the time they will have a set of things they want you to do before going to the next level and if you just do them life will be much easier on you and the poor slob making 8$ an hour to listen to you gripe.

I did tech support for 2 years, hated every minute of it mostly because management made us make the end user do stuipid stuff and the end user always had to get all high and mighty about it and make our lives hell.

The sad thing is it usually was the customers 50$ modem and not the 2000$ network equipment.

Not saying it was never the network, not by any means but its healthier to just chill out.

I found a quick document that says "gee, the LEDS say I'm not a dumbass" diagram.

That's a cool chart. Do you understand all that shit?

Yes. I've been in communications a long time. Every method follows the same basic principles. Just thought our supertech would like to see the complexity that goes on besides just looking at an LED and being immediately able to diagnose a problem.

It also shows all the various state machines/timers I was talking about. So don't assume the tech is an idiot for having you hard reset your modem for at least 30 seconds. pc guys don't really understand networking and they try to use the same methodology, doesn't work that way.

In other words, it's not a network problem.

HMM, I think I started working at a TAX PAYING job at 14, GG n00b. Worked the same job the next summer at 15. Wasn't paying enough so I just didn't work at 16.
"If you don't believe me , ask your mom", WOW, that sounds very similar to a 14 year old playing CS:S.
