But yeah most people can pick up on the difference. ZeroCool evidently takes his carbonated beverages via enema and therefore cannot taste the obvious distinction

Unlike many people, I never made the wrong choice in the "Pepsi Challenge" either.

I had no problem telling Coca-Cola from Pepsi-Cola...

it tastes different.

and, yes, it is somewhat healthier for you (for lack of a better term). 50% fructose as opposed to 55% fructose. after a while, it adds up and your resistance to insulin will decrease.

Don't start that ridiculous shit again.

This year tastes different to me. I swear it tasted like Coke without the aftertaste last year, but this year it tastes like somewhat watered down Pepsi.

I guess I'm just not cool enough to pay more for the same crap.

Yes, there is a tremendous difference in taste. Anyone who claims to not be able to tell the difference either hasn't tried it and is just lying about it, or has tried it and it lying about it.

I would have to agree with this. I was shocked the first time I had sugar cane coke, and it is amazing with JD as well.

Hey, let's not leave out the people who swear they can tell the difference between cane and beet sugar. Ever wondered who began the so called HFCS controversy?

the "so called HFCS" thing isn't about hfcs being particularly bad health wise it is about how the bulk of what we eat coming from corn being fucked up in general.

I never understood the whole "real sugar" thing.

You mean the 41 grams of sugar that is printed on the can is not actually real sugar? Then what is it?

I like the Pepsi throwback because it tastes more like Coca Cola.
I thought Mountain Dew throwback was totally awesome. Going to buy some more tomorrow. One of the first times I will look forward to buying something canned.

I'm not a soda drinking and doubt I'll taste much of a difference but this is such an awesome marketing campaign that I'm gonna go buy some tomorrow.

I don't understand how there could much of a taste difference. The glucose:fructose profile between sucrose sodas and HFCS sodas is similar, or at least they should be unless they changed the formula with sucrose.

Anything corn related is bad for our bodies since we're not made to digest it and you're absolutely correct - just about everything that we eat is somehow started from corn.

They have real sugar coke in Canada and I think it tastes like crap. I love me some hfcs.

I dunno about that, it says "glucose-fructose and/or sugar" which probably means at least partly corn syrup...

I find the coke I've had in europe, with sugar sugar, in glass bottles, tastes a lot better than the stuff we have... even in plastic, but more so in glass.

So why do companies continue to use HFCS? Is sugar that much expensive? two fold?

When you buy stuff in tonnes, you do care. I am sure the corn lobby has something to do with the restrictions.

I don't know if it is a direct result of sugar vs HFCS, but Canadian Coke taste a lot better than the American one. It could just be different formula.

When I am in the states I tend to drink Pepsi, at least it taste the same as up here.

Lol, I actually told the person "The one on the right is Pepsi, the one on the left is Coke, and I like Coke"

I love pepsi throwback, but I hate dew throwback.

However, for some reason pepsi throwback (unlike regular pepsi) makes my teeth hurt.

it's not ridiculous shit. fructose increases the risk of insulin resistance. therefore, hfcs increases insulin resistance more than does regular sugar.

I tried throwback a while ago. Tastes different not particularly better than normal stuff, but I assume that'll vary by person. I usually drink diet, but I tried the throwback and normal back to back as an exception.
