The quantity of ridiculously stupid drivers on the road is scary. After driving a bit, I've quickly discovered this. Now I always keep my real good distance between other cars and myself. I pay extra close attention to the other cars around me, cause you never know when someone will do something stupid. happens pretty often. dunno how many times i got cut off or tailgated in a single week.

come to think of it, cops tailgated me and drove like retards just as much as everyone else. sad world..

Those craptastic drivers that form walls in the left (aka PASSING) lane... I usually just flash them... that's supposed to be the nice way to say "move over" (It's in the books for NY & NJ). Most tards don't understand so I annoy them with full brights after I get sick enough and enough of a line has formed behind me.

I put truck air horns in my Caravan. Now when I get stuck behind these inconsiderate ROAD HOGS I lay on the horns and stay on them until they move over. If everybody did this we would break up the log jams caused by these idiots and may actually keep the lanes clearer as some of them may start to get the message and stay to the right.

No kidding. I wish there was some kind of lobby for this in Washington. I'd totally support it.:p

Seriously, imagine putting one of those air-horns under the hood of a geo metro.....

That would be so bad-ass....

Before I moved to NYC and stopped driving as frequently, I kept a SuperSoaker CPS2000 along with a smaller supersoaker model (one which could fit out the car window to fire without opening the door), both of which I mounted red-dot laser pointers on, which I used to accelerate my daily commute. These have since been handed down to my little sister. Extremely effective, even the drivers who don't use their rear-view mirrors will usually get out of your way when they see the red dot on the top of their dashboard.

There is some risk involved, I did once have someone flash a police badge at me after pointing the supersoaker at them.

My wife's car is a little Dodge Neon, put air horns in for her too. It doesn't work as well for her since they don't see the car, they just look around looking for a truck and still don't move over. They are oblivious, unless something big is bearing down on them they don't give a crap and stay in everyone's way. It's a sad reflection on Society as a whole. Their attitude is "just because I don't care how long it takes to get where I am going I can hold all of you up too".

and what about the tail-gating freaks that sit a foot off of the bumper of the people in front of them and weave back and forth? I can't believe you guys talk about things like shining lights in on people and think it's normal rational behavior....... I myself always leave a decent distance between me and the next driver and always try to stay right as much as possible, but it isn't always possible or practical, esp. with some tailgating freaks or people that speed up in the *right* hand lane and don't allow me to merge into that lane.

Whatever happened to the concept of Speed Limit? It's not Speed Minimum, it's speed *limit* and if you don't want a speeding ticket you have to go *under* the speed limit.

My favorite experience with a left-lane pokey, who was pacing another slow ass in the right hand lane to block both, was some idiot in a Golf. Because his car was so small, it only blocked half the lane. So I pulled up alongside him IN HIS LANE, my side-view mirror less than a foot behind his, and gradually pushed him over onto the median. This was in the morning on the way to work. He was still in the median incapable of merging with traffic when I was on my way home.

I love the laser dot thing on the dash! In my younger days we used to berm people when their excessive slow driving was clogging up the entire road. Once there was a group of about 5-6 cars going to play paintball about an hour away, and we hit some serious idiot drivers. After about 10 minutes of a group of aholes blocking both lanes the lead driver in our group passed on the berm/shoulder and the rest of the cars 5-6 all followed as well. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen becuase I'm quite sure that the three our for fckers who were blocking everything had no clue that what we did was unnormal.

I have only been on two bermings and both berms were very wide and clean, so it was essentially another lane. I never would have participated if they were your standard berm full of debris or real narrow, etc.

If the police would waste their time pulling over slow drivers and reminding them to move over there would be way less accidents and road rage IMO.

i drive the speedlimit and sometimes a little over, and i stay out of the left lane..

tailgaters piss me off

tailgaters remember this:
if your behind me i own your ass, if you don't like my speed find a fvcking way around

and to those people who see others 'breaking' all the time they are probably trying to tell you to GET THE FVCK OFF MY ASS

now, i'd like to make a bumper with a hinge on one side so that when someone TG's me i pull a lever and the bumper swings down on one side and starts draggin like its about to fall off :p

The worst is when you are forced to pass left-lane hogs on the right and you see that they are talking on a cell phone. THere is a special place in hell reserved for these twats.

OMG I was driving home on I-280 from Newark, and this one Biotch in a Ugly Infinity Q45 ( i like the previous gen better ) was going like 40 in a 45mph zone while the right lane was going like 55.
She was on her gawd damn cell phon, braking like ever 5-10 sec and causing other people behind her to brake. I must have seen like 6-7 cars pull out to the right all at the same time and get around her.

people who drag in the middle lanes piss me off. Especially the ones going 55 grrr. At least go with the speed of traffic. I really like the far right lane. Usually no one there and i can pass loads of slow cars.

If they're going the speed limit, I only get frustrated with them (if and when I use the left lane and/or want to pass someone). If they're going under the speed limit, then yeah, they bug the hell outta me.

Tailgating = moronic, dangerous.
Flashing brights (a couple car lengths back) = just fine in my book. I'll notice and get over if and when I can.
Flashing brights (while riding my ass) = you're gonna just get pissed, because I'm not moving.
Leaving a couple car lengths in front = wise.

Going bumper to bumper accomplishes nothing but giving you the illusion that you're -that- much closer to your destination. The illusion of speed. Leaving space saves you from rear-ending anyone, gives you that much more time to brake/swerve if there is an obstacle in the road, and creates breathing room for emergency vehicles that need to get by or cars to pass. It's just good thinkin'.

Slower Traffic Keep Right - it's the law

Anyway, I know your type. In the 16 years I've had my license, I've driven well over a million freeway miles. Sometimes I think that I have truly seen it all. You should have your license revoked for incompetent driving skills. Let me be clear, if other drivers are impatiently passing you on your right, you are doing something very, very wrong. And the first of those wrongs is that you're not properly paying attention to what's going on around you. You should know what's going on behind you just as well as what's going on in front of you. Your second problem is that you're fearful and indecisive. The third is that no one taught you that you always speed up when lane changing. You absolutely never slow down when changing lanes... no wonder you can't get over.
It's people like you that are the hazard. I wish your type could get that through your stupid thick skulls.
Kindly return your license to the DMV.

Thank you.

Bring it, bitch...

If I'm going the speed limit, screw you.

amish

Going the speed limit is what the right lane is for.
