Apparently they're not renaming the library. I forgot my last ex's cousin went to Penn State. I should see what she thinks. The cousin that is. :p

sounds like the NCAA is going to hit the football program pretty hard in tomorrow mornings announcement

Which is strange as the NCAA President was on PBS just a week ago and gave no indication that any penalties were forthcoming. This is either a slap-on-the-hand response from the NCAA so they can say they did something or a preliminary finding and punishment with more coming down the road. Knowing the NCAA, I'm thinking the former.

Looks like Penn state is going through their version of "De-stalinization" Now its De-paternolization.

Statues going down etc.. Hoping to remove the black mark that will spoil all the penn state diplomas now and forever. Sucks to be known as a pedstate grad.

Nobody hates the grads. Or the students. Or even the foot ball players.
The hate seems to be aimed pretty accurately in this situation, on the coaches and faculty who allowed this to happen.

"But Penn State will not receive the so-called "death penalty" that would have suspended the program for at least one year, the source said.

The penalties, however, are considered to be so harsh that the death penalty may have been preferable, the source said."

I saw an article, Yahoo! I think, about a "punishment worse than the death penalty"; apparently there was a segment pushing to expel Penn State from the NCAA entirely.

On another note the Paterno family released another statement, this one about the statue, that makes them sound like the biggest idiots in the world right now.

There's a difference between grieving and just flat denying to see the truth of what's staring you in the face while attacking anyone and everyone who dares to try to pop your delusional bubble. The family is in the latter category.

Like I said. Grieving and denial. It's completely natural.

Reports are coming out that sanctions may not be any worse than what USC just got last year.

I'm torn on what is going to happen tomorrow morning. I just hope that the right message is sent to college administrations.

Well, some of the grads/students are jackasses.

It will be interesting to see how many years they're banned from bowl games. I think they will come down very hard in this area.

I'm a patriots fan and i wonder what the hell Bill O'Brien was thinking when he took that head coaching gig at penn state. It's going to be a clusterfuck for quite a while.
