How does the govt make money on bail?

In fact, I'm pretty sure they don't. You don't have to put it up in cash either. They'll hold a deed to your house if you've got the equity.

Now bailbondsmen, that's another story.

Hmm, I thought they took a small percent (they do take an administrative fee, which is probably above cost), even less than the bondsmen. Maybe it varies state by state? Or perhaps not at all. Regardless, it's not a "PSU Football" issue.

well, the first time his bond was set at $250k, after being requested for $1 million, it very much was a PSU football issue--or 2nd mile issue--being that the judge was one of his longtime volunteers.

It seems to me that it's just one of those places where this "thing" is such an ingrained, subconscious way of life for everyone, that they simply don't notice how much it influences them.

Bonds are often requested high, and then argued down. It's the way it goes. I still don't see this massive conspiracy you do. To say that those on the inside are so biased they don't even realize it, and then not to admit that you yourself are biased in the opposite direction is disingenuous.

Apparently his wife wrote a check for $50k to cover what wasn't real estate. Sounds like he's already transferred his assets to her and probably elsewhere.

perhaps you are correct. I may indeed be biased against rapists and those who shelter and make life easier for them. :\

The guy is hopefully going to prison for the rest of his life (and rightfully so), sitting out on bail waiting for trial is pretty standard. This isn't a "special case."

No, serial molestation suspects are not given bail. The standard is to deny bail.

You are pathetic.

Football is more important than child rape.

seems rchiu and others close to penn state are defending what they hold dear to them, despite all the evidence for a coverup. i recall you made a post bashing rchiu, which is hilarious to say the least, given how you exhibit the same exact denial type behavior when it comes to the US government and cover-ups.

good stuff. :awe: :D:D:D

Yeah, though I dont see the point in that.

Image.

I don't think it will happen, but it highlights how furious a lot of folks are that PSU thinks football is more important than the image of the actual, you know, school. :p That's an SEC quality, ha ha ha.

:awe: yep. just like penn state fans in denial about the university cover-up. you ducked all contradictions / eyewitness statements exposing multiple government cover-ups in my sig. go ahead and apologize to rchiu. now, hypocrite!

you've also been called out by a mod for lying, and ducked multiple taiwan/korean links in another thread that destroyed your corporal punishment arguments. funny how you've never acknowledged that either.

stop posting.

What Penn St. proves is that it is very hard to cover something up forever. It's very hard to make a convincing lie stick if too many people know about it. Too many moving parts and you're found out.
