The question isn't whether he followed university policy. The question is why NOBODY followed up on it. How can you (McQueary) witness a child being raped by someone you know, and then report it and just forget about it? Wouldn't you wonder why you kept seeing the guy afterward?

If someone told you that they saw a child being anally raped, would you just tell your superior and then never ask what was done about it or follow up in any way?

they had a hearing and he was 'cleared' by the AD.

I am not saying what happened was good or close to best case.

but if someone tells you think a guy you have known for like 30 years was sexing up a boy, and you report it only to have it cleared as a misunderstanding are you going to lookinto it more, probably not, (the first time atleast)

some of that shit is messed up, and it wasnt happening at PSU. all these charges are not PSU related, alot are that foundation, who probably screwed up the most. betting banned from the HS and no one looks into it?

thats ef'd up

what amazes me is that in one case one of the penn state people walked in on him raping a 10 year boy and all he did was turn around and walk away without doing nothing.

Someone photoshop the nittany lion with the pedo bear :\

I'm kind of sad I sold my tickets to the game this weekend. It'll be interesting to see how the PSU crowd responds. If I still had my tickets I would go dressed as the nittany lion with a bag over my head holding a sign that says "Have you no shame?"

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Joe Paterno’s tenure as coach of the Penn State football team will soon be over, perhaps within days or weeks, in the wake of a sex-abuse scandal that has implicated university officials, according to two people briefed on conversations among the university’s top officials.

The board of trustees has yet to determine the precise timing of Paterno’s exit, but it is clear that the man who has more victories than any other coach at college football’s top level and who made Penn State a prestigious national brand will not survive to coach another season. Discussions about how to manage his departure have begun, according to the two people.

Paterno was to have held a news conference Tuesday but the university canceled it less than an hour before it was scheduled to start.
At age 84 and with 46 seasons as the Penn State head coach behind him, Paterno’s extraordinary run of success — one that produced tens of millions of dollars for the school and two national championships, and that established him as one of the nation’s most revered leaders, will end with a stunning and humiliating final chapter.

Based on what was in the grand jury testimony it would be reprehensible for him to be on the sideline this weekend.

should have retired earlier ....
I don't know why he wouldn't have retired after last season, knowing that a grand jury was investigating this issue.

But yes, this belongs in the other thread.

I'm not totally convinced JayPa needs to be fired. He reported it to his superiors. It's not his job to investigate the allegations.

No one says he has to investigate, but more than once he was informed of something going on, and still he did much of nothing. Even had Sandusky on campus just last week...all the while knowing what was coming down.

We're supposed to believe the most powerful man at PSU was "fooled" (his word)? Bullshit.

Jaypa is Joepa's son. He needs to be fired for being a terrible QB coach.

What does gramPa do anyways besides motivational speaking and recruiting? I never see him with a headset on the sidelines anymore.

Worse than that, he was allowed to maintain his own OFFICE on campus as late as last week!

A person familiar with Sandusky's relationship with Penn State told The Associated Press that the former coach long maintained an office in the East Area Locker building which is across the street from the Penn State football team's building, and was on campus as recently as a week ago working out.

PS: don't give me any BS for a fox link, it was the first one to come up in search via google news. I think I originally heard of this on CNN.

I believe throwing granPa under the bus by concluding he knew anything about anything these days is just wrong.
