The other thing that's disturbing is that Sandusky has quite a few adopted foster children. God only knows what he did to them...

Gross.

PSU = Pedo Sanctuary University.

It's sad that the actions of a few can ruin the reputation of a good institution. I work for the university, and most of the employees and students want everyone from Spanier down to Mcqueary to be fired.

Yeah, I don't feel sorry for your university or the employees who work there, I feel sorry for those poor children that got raped at your university.

It all revolves around how they handle the situation. Ignoring it or hiding things means this stigma will take a LONG time to leave. Firing everyone and paying for some sort of unbiased investigation would be a good start to fixing things.

Disgusting that someone saw this and didn't go to the police.

The entire lot that knew & did nothing to protect those kids should be thrown in jail.

Was the place a football factory or supposed university?
The entire football program there should be shut down permanently.

are they mutually exclusive?

it's a pretty fucking terrible thing and of course I feel bad for the kids, but I also feel bad for anyone unfairly tarnished by the incident just because they happen to work for the same institution, no matter how far removed from this they may be (though obviously anyone who knew about this and did nothing should be fired and prosecuted)

Agree 100%. It sucks that so many good people get tarnished/damaged because of the deeds of a few.

He didn't cancel it, the university canceled it an hour before it was to begin.

Yeah rumor has it Paterno is going to be asked to resign shortly. If that happens, Mcqueary and the rest of the coaching staff will get axed during the transition to a new head coach.

The only question after that is whether Spanier will be asked to resign.

University released a statement that they'd only answer questions related to football, then the press responded that wasn't going to work, so they cancelled the press conference.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil...

Why didn't the graduate assistant call the police? Why didn't anyone the graduate assistant spoke with about the matter (including Paterno) call the police?

When a grown man is in the shower alone with a boy in your facilities, you call the fucking police. You don't tell the coach and the AD. Sickening how people lose sight of who the authorities really are...

we all know how these big orgs work. Paterno had 3 options, do nothing(who kows what happens then), report to AD ala Univeristy Policy, call cops(and probably lose his job for not following uni policy)

an assistant told joepa he saw something, joe didnt see allegidly see shit

All of them need to go to jail.

Not reporting child abuse is aiding in the crime.

PA authorities have already stated that Paterno reporting the claims of the assistant to the AD fullfilled his legal requirements. the AD dropped the ball/obviously aided in the cover up(and why?? what is he getting out of this?)

The question isn't whether he followed university policy. The question is why NOBODY followed up on it. How can you (McQueary) witness a child being raped by someone you know, and then report it and just forget about it? Wouldn't you wonder why you kept seeing the guy afterward?

If someone told you that they saw a child being anally raped, would you just tell your superior and then never ask what was done about it or follow up in any way?

You're right of course, but since I have children, I have 0 tolerance for such matters. It's like when a bad cop ruins the image of a whole department because of their misdeeds of course. But having said that, when college football image and money becomes more important than the human rights of children to the administrators of such an institution that we send our children to, it makes me want to wipe out the whole college, metaphorically of course.
