Personally, I don't think this is such a big deal. But isn't it funny that the Dems put Reps under a microscope for so many years for any and everything possible...and now the Dems find themselves under the scope and cry 'foul'. Isn't it amusing to see how 'rational' Dems can be when justifying themselves and oblivious to reason they are when criticizing the other party. I think the Dems should start getting used to the heat because (I suspect) that this is just the beginning.

But...then again...I imagine that the Dems should be OK with being treated the same as they treated the Reps when the Reps were in control. After all...turnabout is fair play. ;)

What utter BS. The republicans did huge wrongs, and the dems are not, so the dems complaints were based on legitimate issues and the repubs so far are not.

Your post is a big lie.

So let me get this straight...the Dems never did huge wrongs and never complained about anything except "legitimate issues".

If you want to believe a big lie, believe this...democrats good...republicans evil...democrats honorable...republicans corrupt...democrats caring...republicans callous...democrats tolerant...republicans hateful...democrats truthful...republicans lyin' sacks of pig manure as illustrated by my post. I think I've finally got it now...it's a black and white world and the Dems are pure as the driven snow. Thanks for setting me straight.:disgust:

Anyone who thinks the parties are not the same, as you do, is a blind partisan hack. Republicans and Democrats suck equally.

If they are the same, then who have you voted for the last few elections? They should be 50-50 split, right?

No, it wouldn't be a 50-50 split. I live in a state controlled overwhelmingly by Democrats, so I vote for every Republican running for office in this state (unless I completely disagree with them of course, then I vote 3rd party). I don't want my state or federal government controlled by one party, Republicans or Democrats. I still believe the Republicans to be the lesser of two evils, but if I strongly disagree with a Republican candidate then I go 3rd party. If I find a Democrat that I like then I will vote for them.

Although the Republicans have gone off track from most conservative issues, I still think that they are better than Dems when it comes to some of the more important issues to me, gun control, taxes, etc..

If my state was overwhelmingly controlled by Republicans and I didn't like what was going on, then I would vote for mostly Dems or 3rd party. If GWB ran again, I would vote 3rd party, and looking at the possible candidates for 08, I will probably be voting for a 3rd party candidate.

But you just said they were both the same...

By the way, it wasn't even Pelosi's idea.

House Sergeant at Arms Bill Livingood, who oversees security at the Capitol and has served Hastert as well as Pelosi, said it was he who had recommended that Pelosi fly home nonstop.

"I regret that an issue that is exclusively considered and decided in a security context has evolved into a political issue," he said in a statement, perhaps one of the most restrained issued all day.

Too bad the Republicans refuse to talk about the REAL issues the country faces. They'd rather spend our time and treasure making political hay of a non issue. Not surprising.

it definetly looks like rove is back in the saddle and is warming up the repub smear machine for the '08 campaign. i expect to see the repubs use this tactic ad nauseum until the '08 elections are over.

rove has already proven that elections can be won with lies, innuendo, disinformation and the effective use disseminating propaganda through media sources under their control. if anything, they can only get better at it.

this non-issue with pelosi's transportation requirements is but a tiny example of what the repub's hidden shadow army of "unofficial" and dubious unsanctioned support groups will be hosing the dems with for the forseeable future. i can see them literally flooding the media with lies against the dems coupled with incessantly repeated jingoisms that favor themselves. fun.

i hope the dem leadership took a que from clinton and obama when they were confronted with this type of under-handed tactics by the repub mind control apparatchiki.

I clarified what I said in another post. I shouldn't have said that they are exactly the same, my mistake, but there is barely any difference between the two, and when it comes to hypocrisy and corruption they are the same. The only real difference is the legislation they pass just to keep their base on just a few key issues.

You don't see the repub erosion of our civil rights being the first step to disarming/neutering the populace?

You don't see the repub erosion of the country's fiscal solvency as the surest path to higher taxes for all, and future generations?

You people are totally frickin' delusional.

No, I see all of that, but I think that the Democrats will do it much faster than the Republicans.

That sounds a lot like blind partisan speak to me...but....we know you aren't like that :p

So how is it that the Dems will "Do it faster?" by gun control laws and raising taxes? Is that all you care about? that is pathetically narrowminded.

So you mean to tell me that you don't have key issues, issues which are more important to you? Do you look at every single issue exactly the same, and if someone doesn't agree with you one hundred percent on every single issue then you don't vote for them? Wow, you must not ever vote then.

How would they do it faster. Give us an example from the past of restricting your rights on the scale of likes of the patriot act or nsa warrantless spying that would lead you to believe this.

I see my rights eroding much faster and my taxes being raised much higher in my state, controlled by Democrats, then I do by the Patriot Act and warantless wiretapping. Has the Patriot act been made permanent yet? Isn't warrantless wiretapping concerning conversations with a foreigner? This stuff is in response to the threat from terror, and I doubt that they will be permanent. The Dems are trying to make laws controlling what we can eat, do in our cars, do in private establishments, etc..

Being told that I cannot talk on my cellphone in my car, because some people are too stupid to multitask, is just the beginning. Not being alllowed to smoke in a privately owned building (no I don't smoke) is just the beginning. Or how about in NYC, trying to outlaw Ipods and cellphones when you are crossing the street? I don't think that we even have to debate the point of Democrats raising taxes.

Keeping taxes at a level you personally prefer is not a right. It is that simple.

Again, state politics are different than federal policy. Give some examples of federal level congress or presidential democrats taking away any rights. If you want to copare state democrats you have to consider what all democrats and all republicans in ALL states do if you want to compare the politics of the 2.

Ok, so then its not a violation of your rights if you are taxed 100 percent, effectively making you a slave?

You asked for examples of Democrats taking away rights faster than Republicans, I gave you some, you didn't like them, tough. Now you are changing it to federal level only. How about you give some examples of Republicans eroding the rights of citizens at the state level?

Bulleted so even JD50 can grasp it.

?House sergeant at arms says he requested plane for Pelosi
? Pelosi accused of asking for more expensive plane than her predecessor's
? Pelosi is striking back against claims
? "I think this is much ado about not a whole lot," says White House spokesman

Apparently the only ones left trying to make political hay of this are the Republican cry babies in here.

Let's take care pf the problems facing the country, Repugs, instead of wasting time and treasure on this and failed wars.

taking property away from you at gunpoint isn't eroding your rights?!? property is the most basic right a person can have after life and basic liberty ('life, liberty, and the pursuit of property' ring a bell?) it is what truly allows a person to stand apart and pursue their desires. what good is freedom if you can't use it?
