Some are, like Beohner calling the financial crisis an 'ant'.

Pelosi isn't. You post nothing trying to support your attack.

Typical of the left, John Boehner did not call the financial crisis an ant rather he likened the proposed congressional solutions to it to be overkill similar to killing an ant with a nuclear bomb. If he would have used the more common analogy of cracking a walnut with a sledgehammer would you be posting that Boehner called the financial crisis a walnut?

Typical of the right, nit pick some minor point and completely pass over the real message where Craig said:

"Pelosi isn't. You post nothing trying to support your attack."

and adding nothing to support that attack.

A political genius of the first order. He was a genius at being stupid and loved and therefore bullet proof. A master of the shit eating grin.

Sorry but I have to disagree with you on this one. Sometimes all it takes is being the right person, in the right place, at the right time. It doesn't have as much to do with being smart or capable as it has to do with dumb luck.

Dumb luck hardly describes GWB, because if anything ole GWB was a man of few successes and numerous failures. His greatest piece of dumb luck was being born into a wealthy and politically powerful family, and the one lesson GWB learned was that no matter how flat he flopped his daddy or his daddy friends would bail his ass out.

Of course when GWB became President, we the American people had to bail GWB's ass out every time he flopped. Its cost the USA maybe 10 trillion or more, but GWB gets to go to Crawford and revel in the fact he was a two term President still loved by a few die hards. And GWB can basically say he never had to pay for a failure in his life. That is not dumb luck, that is a very bad upbringing that has totally divorced him from normal human reality.

It is funny that you mention this. I am fond of debunking conspiracies whenever i can. But with GWB, it just felled to me that old Senior was not ready yet to retire. But not having the stamina, junior stepped up to the plate. I can not prove this, but when you compare the intelligence, self presentation and the influence of the two. Junior is a bit out his league when compared to Senior. I wonder if senior ever told junior that he had doubts about junior actually being his genetic son...

You have to have the capacity to seize the opportunity. That's being the right person. I don't mind if you can't see your way to crediting Bush with anything, but I see him as a master player. He was born on third base, but he made the steal.

Actually it was the SCOTUS who did the stealing.

If you insist on baseball metaphors, I would rather say
Born on third base, and trotted in on a Karl Rove sacrifice fly.

I bet you guys think Sarah Palin is stupid too. She'll round third base before you can pull your heads out.

If she would have had a political machine working for her like the GWB "inherited", it would have been a Palin/McCain ticket instead of the other way around.
