Zebo, your logic is atrocious.
Let me explain something very basic to you about the economy: it has a lot to do with people doing things for one another.
So when you have a guy, 'John', who has his plumbing done, buys his groceries and meals, gets a car, sees a movie, all that pays for employment of a plumber, of people at the grocery, at the theatre and in the movie industry. Now, the less money people are spending for such things, the more of those people also are broke and not spending money, and this could make a spiraling economic problem.
Keeping 'the system' working - the grocers' doors open, the car dealer's doors open, the plumber's business open, by John buying their services, can have a lot of benefit.
Now, just because this makes since with a limited program like unemployment, you are wrong to say that means a hundred times the program is better.
"Spending $25,000 on teen recreation reduces crime and saves $100,000 in law enforcement costs."
"Oh, then spend a million dollars and it's even better!"
No.
"A glass of wine a day is good for your health."
"Oh then a case of wine a day is better!!!"
No.
Your post is so ideological and ignoring of the facts as to be pure hot air nonsense. You say *nothing* about the issue you posted on, just bad logic "THEN MORE IS BETTER!"
You should really realize how bad a post that was and change your view.
Pelosi has a good point. You can debate the deficit issue all day, but it doesn't change, whether you're right or wrong, that she has a point.
Wasn't it in this forum yesterday I saw a conservative statement 'don't give people government-provide housing, give them the voucher/money to buy housing', because that is more efficient and helpful for the economy/housing market? I thought it was a reasonable point, and it's the same basic point Pelosi is making.
