i think what happened was that you grew up, your friends grew up, and now you never hang out with people who care about that.

I am sure the 12 year olds today still care about glow junk in their PC

The 12 year olds today consider an iPhone their PC.

There is absolutely no relationship between the color of the PCB and its quality.

Except for the white Galaxy gtx460 cards. 🙂
They use a special Christmas solder. 🙂

"Power supply wise, we're looking at 6 phases for the GPU, 2 phases for the memory circuits - Galaxy are pushing for clock frequencies of up to 4600MHz for the GDDR5 memory, while the GPU is hoping to be clocked at between 900 and 1000 MHz. "

White seems to be the new black in 2011...

White GTX 460, white Corsair 600T case, and white SilverStone Raven RV02.

this thread made me lol. it really did 😀

Red and blue PCBs are cheap from cheap companies,,

green PCB like ASUS or Gigabyte is best quality.

MOD EDIT: C'mon guys, this isn't Off Topic. I know sometimes expletives slip in here and there, but having the F-word that huge in an image is a bit over the top. - Zap

If you decide to come back to this thread, please link me a Gigabyte product with a green PCB.

Not tweakboy but....

There are others too, I'm just lazy.

See what I mean.

I mean he isn't even right about the BS he posts either. Asus for example has used alot of different colors, Green, Black, Blue, Brown, I think they even had red at one point. IIRC Gigabyte used purple once before too... Color is not important to judging quality.

No its not yours is good one, because alto blue its Gigabyte blue which is of highest quality and will have longer life span.

What gave you that impression Tweakboy? Color of the PCB has NOTHING to do with quality. What you're saying is analogous to "blue cars are the highest quality".

They are, but red ones are faster - that's why they get more Tickets and have higher Insurance rates 😉

Sorry, that came out wrong... What I meant was look the other people constantly seem to be discussing the color of the pcb as if it had a relevance to the quality of the board.

Guess the apple doesn't fall far from a chip off the old dick.

... your arguments are not even internally consistent! if "gigabyte blue" is different to "company X blue" then its not the BLUE the matters its the GIGABYTE part that does.

Certain companies use higher grade components (although beware the bait and switch), but color is not related to it.

Gigabyte supposedly uses double thickness copper layer in their PCBs for better thermals... I honestly don't know if it does ANYTHING at all. But they claim it does 😛. They also typically use higher end capacitors and well designed boards. They are a good company to buy from, but the color of the board they chose is irrelevant.

Your fakepost detector is in dire need of recalibration, tb has been punking these technical forums for quite some time...I'm undecided on which muses me more - the fakeposts themselves or the misplaced ire they appear to raise in some forum members.

tweakboy is not being satirical or sarcastic. He is far too vehement and insists it is what he believes (even in PM). When asked outright if he is being sarcastic (even in PM) always insist that he isn't, and that he is totally serious and means it.
Either he honestly believes things like "color of PCB matters" and "defrag your SSD", or he is flame baiting.

I do not get riled up, I simply content myself in ripping apart his arguments so that people will not be mislead. If he wanted flames, he will not get them from me. if he is serious, then others will get a good and serious rebutting of his claims. And if he is right, well, others could find the flaws in my counter arguments and point them out to me.

Racist thread

Besides, everyone knows that the art on the cooling shroud is what makes a card faster.

Now THAT was an obviously satirical post 😛.
made me lol. thank you.
