Now her brother admitting to calling Obama a ****** while at work poses her and her brother serious problems. Honestly its this admission that has irreparably harmed and destroyed her brand. That and her belief that her brother showing employees porn at work as being acceptable.

They should have just paid the million before the suit was filed and made the person sign a binding confidentiality agreement. That said who knew Paula Deen was a freak with the mouth of a drunken sailor(referring back to her outtakes, they apparently are quiet salacious).

She has donated large amounts of money to charities to help African Americans. Her brothers actions are not hers, and she should not be condemned for them.

I have no love for Paula Deen, but agreed. I think the context is key. Was it a joke? Did she call one of her employees that? Was it said 30 years ago?

I love how squeaky clean everyone is to be able to get their panties in a twist over this.
 
I can't believe naggers are in an uproar over this. More likely people hate her more for her cardiovascular insults.

The problem is they are linked by business so her brothers problems are her problems. The fact that she knew/knows her business partner shows employees porn and says ****** at work and didn't do anything certainly makes it her problem. By not doing anything she condoned the patently inappropriate behavior and even testified that she saw no problem with racial jokes or showing pornography at work.

At the cost of a multi-million dollar brand. At first I thought the suit was a money grab, and to extent it is but it isn't extortion since there are valid claims. The more you read the depo excerpts the more you have to wonder why the hell they didn't settle.

You act as if family businesses don't routinely yank family members out of day to day operations if they do something wrong.

But it goes beyond that, she didnt do anything not because it was her brother but because she doesn't find the behavior unacceptable.

She didnt say she has no problems with racist jokes. She said she didn't know if any of the jokes would be offensive to others.
 
First time I ever heard of her was today. Apparently she used the N-word. I am still not sure exactly what word that is. The news has told me it's so evil it can't even be written under any circumstance. I am fairly sure it's nipple, which is not THAT bad a word, really.

I have yet to to it, and I'm 30. I guess it's still to happen in the future?

I don't listen to any music that uses the word though, so singing along with a song is out. I rarely get angry, and never felt the need to say that word even when I do get angry. I guess that leaves jokes. Doubt I'd ever make a joke using the word.

I've never liked her. My family is from Savannah Georgia. Paula's accent is so damn fake and forced that it makes all of us sick. Cooking wholesome, southern food isn't about butter, sugar, and gravy. Too bad she has become the "staple" southerner for most northerns as it just reaffirms their opinion of the south being a bunch of bigots, which is not the case.

The accent kills me, and unfortunately she has come to personify that region more so than any other.
