I have played ~6 or 7 leagues. WTF is Zana?

Seriously, the story in this game is god awful. I have no idea who anyone is, or why anything is. Just kill everything...

Honestly, I don't care about the storyline either. I don't care in most games to be fair. I just kill everything too

I'm thinking of some sort of minion build. Unless there's been a remedy for the loss of +1 totem on the soul mantle that I haven't seen yet?
Arc totems would be fun otherwise.

I'm still going to either run my Fireball totem build or a Storm Call assassin I put together. The Fireball is probably going to be better as it's sitting at about 6m DPS single target and about 3.5m clearing after the balance changes with 25 projectiles. The gear for it isn't even that bad and it may be even cheaper to get the corrupted 6L Soul Mantle I'd need.

The Storm Call assassin is something I really want to try but it isn't something you can start with. The gear is more expensive and Storm Call sucks without a few items to get it going. If I can drop in another skill to level with that will work then I'll go with it but if I can't find one then Fireball it is.

If you play Hiero totem with multiple totems support on a Soul Mantle it isn't a DPS loss. You go from 6 to 5 totems so 17% loss and then the Spell Totem Support has a 16% loss at level 20 for a total of 33%. Spells were bumped up around 40% between base damage and damage effectiveness changes. So you'll actually net out to zero or better. If you were running a 5 totem setup and went to 4 from the Soul mantle change then you'd be slightly worse than before. Overall it's not a nerf unless you were running a 4 totem setup with Soul Mantle and went to 3.

It scales from roughly 2.5m DPS clearing with 25 projectiles and 4 layers of piercing all the way up to 10.5m DPS single target with a full body armor swap. Gear isn't particularly expensive either. Check the Notes section for more info on certain details. It should clear very well as it effectively has 100 hits on the screen when all 5 totems are up.

have you seen the latest Jousis video on youtube? wow that build has gotten so complex when he incorporates all the mechanichs together.
it's not his best work, the damage isnt that high and it's not so "meme"-y anymore, but the level of engineering that went into that build is astounding.

Decided to run my Assassin Storm Call build. I've been wanting to play the skill again for a long time now so I'm going to commit. I worked on the items and tree last night and I was able to dump a couple of the more expensive items while maintaining damage. That way I can move into the build quicker.

I'm going to level as a Lightning Trap Saboteur as the total cost to change is about 60 regrets once I'm ready. Looking over the items/tree for the Lightning Trap, it looks like at level 70 I'll have 1.6-1.8m DPS with a 6L and junk gear. This will be more than enough for me to farm into red maps and build up currency for the swap.

Sustained DPS is going to be about 12-13m on a single enemy and about 17m with my flasks up

Still havent decided my build. I can think about it tomorrow on my 1000km drive home... Going to miss the league start unfortunately.
Was planning to leave early around 5am and make it home by 4pm so I could play. But found out my in laws are visiting for a night, I'll take my time lol.

I think I might go this route too.
I can not tell you the last time I played a similar build. And for whatever reason, I am just not feeling totems this time around.
Still mulling a minion build...googling around right now

It really doesn't come alive until you run Awakened Spell Cascade and that usually costs 4-7ex in the first couple of weeks. I super easy minion build that wrecks stuff is Skeleton Mages if you want to try them. You start off with regular skeletons and work your way into the mages.

Ugg, this league is boring, just add mods to a spawn. No motivation to get to the end game. Oh well, thought I would try to get back into PoE, maybe the next league will be more interesting. Prefer leagues where you go to unique locations, like Delve.

The end game has be heavily reworked. Maps is much different that what it was. The Leauge has good rewards. Been equipping the drops I'm getting.
