I can't comprehend why you're so scared of rolling 2 off colors that you spent 50c on a 30-40c item.

But whatever, you got your chest. Tell us how your chaospulse is going!

I asked about the colour rolling without checking vorici tables. :)
As far as a fully rolled Chestpiece with incorrect colours, the 50C was a cheap purchase considering the 34% fire and 229% energy shield. (almost perfect)
I just happened to get lucky when the colours were exactly what I wanted :)
The lesser rolled units are 30-40c, not the near perfect rolls.
Trust me I scoured poe.trade for hours over a week period.

As for the Chaos crit pulse its great dps... lvl 17 freeing pulse is around 18.5k without any charges/procs/flasks or poison.
I am missing some form of Life leech however, and will reserve judgement until I get to use my 2 Atziri flasks at lvl 68. Supposedly the healing is very good for this build, but have never used them.
I am also using EB and MOM and not sure how much I like it, too early to tell

So, Ascendancy is two weeks away, everything but the Scion ascendancy class is revealed. Anyone got any fun build ideas? I think I'm finally going to start a league doing an MF totem build, I'm tired of being poor all league.

That sounds... really low for DPS. What is it with the charges?

With Atziri flask and charges 25-30k.
Honestly this build is ok.. but not sure how much I like it. Having to rely on Flask 100% for Life regen and to cover regen for spells is just not my idea of a fun time. I thought with Eldritch battery my spells are supposed to use Energy shield but they are still using my Life pool.
I have blood magic + Mom + EB.
I want to get some more damage nodes to see how the dps scales up.
At lvl 68 I am at around 19.7k dps tooltip dps. Thats in town.

BM = spells cost life
EB = mana is protected by ES (spells still cost life if BM, if not BM, cost ES then mana when ES depleted
MoM = 30% damage taken comes from mana instead of life.

Since EB protects mana, that means 30% damage taken comes from ES, 70% life, spells cost life.

Thanks for clearing it up.
I think the reason I am not liking this build is the lack of Life leech on a 5L and Life leech only gets added on a 6L which I cannot afford.
If I was spending Mana then I could get away with just potions.
I tried looking for an alternative build that does away with using BM and uses mana instead but nothing so far, guess
I will have to keep looking or take a break until the new Expansion launches.

I mostly solo and don't get very far/strong so I'm looking to build a thorns build... I want to be able to just run around and let mobs do the work for me. Plan is to have thorns, high regen per second and all mana reserved for auras so I don't need to actually do anything except move around a lot.

I expect to get nowhere with it :) But as I've been hitting a wall around 45-50 it's not like I do end game anyways.

Edited to add: I did read into it over the weekend and I do see that people say there is no such thing as a viable thorns build but what the hell...

MF build for me to start.
I will let others do the work to figure out what builds there are and what can be done with all the new shuffling around.

Thinking dual totem MF build of course.

Speaking of which, I played my dual totem build this weekend quite a bit. Got her 2 levels (86 now) and upped her DPS by 4K. Really need to find a good helm for her. Can't figure out the best option and nothing I find, even in the store gets me excited.

I might try the MF poison arrows build. I love Totems but already have 2.
Not sure what other MF builds are out there.

Coming off a arrow build, I can't do another one.
I know that once I pick my"real" build it's going to have to be a class I haven't done yet -- so no Witch, ranger or Templar for sure.

What did you not like about the arrows build?

Yeah the main reason I'm considering doing a totem build at all is that I've never gotten one past 30.

It may not be very exciting but for MF, its tough to beat it.
It also helps a lot with funds at the beginning of a league which you know already :D

welp, got my first 6L... found a 6S staff and decided to drop a few fusing on it. 10 attempts and blammo.

Tossed a few more chromes at it to get the colors I needed, an Alch or 5 to get some decent stats.

Bummer is that when I use it with my dual totem witch, DPS drops by ~5K since I'm not using wand+shield to give a ton of spell damage increase. Sort of sucks.

It would benefit other builds far more.
Next league will be interesting, seems some nice possibilities with new special sub classes.

Interesting... just killed a pack and every mob dropped a rare battle sword, 7 total in a few seconds haha, never seen that before. Also led to another discover on my part, I put 6 battle swords to sell and it gave me another rare one in trade which rolled the worst of the bunch!

Question, what does this mean on a gem: With at least 50 strength allocated in Radius, 20% rarity of item dropped by enemies shattered by Glacial Hammer.

Bunch of items: It's called "Keepers of the Trove" and it's a rare mod on blue mob packs. The item they drop is completely random but all of the mobs in the pack will drop the same item. Some lucky souls have gotten high-level map Keepers or ring Keepers.

Gem: that is a "threshhold" jewel. It means what it says, if you have 50 strength on the passive tree in the area covered by the jewel, you get 20% rarity on shatters from Glacial Hammer.

Most threhhold jewels are REALLY REALLY bad. The only one that's truly great, IMO, is Volley Fire (basically adds extra projectiles to barrage).

So a bunch of 2.2 content is getting revealed now. There's apparently a keystone that removes crit multiplier, but gives 40% more elemental damage if you've crit in the last 8 seconds. There's a support gem that gives more elemental damage but prevents elemental status ailments from being applied.

I wish I was richer, I'd run a gimmicky double void battery blasphemy assassin's mark Incinerate build with both of those and do hilariously stupid high damage.

Nice, I'm ready for the expansion. Will be building a ranger for the first time in HC Perandus, not sure which ascendant class yet. I haven't played HC in quite some time so remembering to be super careful shall be interesting. When I RIP enough times I might switch to SC Perandus.

Two questions as I have never played:
1. Is there a pet class? Something with animals, not skeletons and the like.
2. Can you respect without starting a new character?

1. No, not really.
2. Yes, but it is rather expensive and generally not worth it. On patches / big skill tree changes, they offer free respecs (or sometimes force them completely). You can level pretty quickly once you learn the game, so it isn't a huge deal.
