Here's an idea Pat - How about we go back in the days when Prophets actually prophesied and we killed the ones who were wrong? Looking over your wiki page of FAILS you'da been toast a long time ago.

False prophets abound...wolves in sheeps' clothing. You will know them by their fruits, and Robertson's fruits are rotten to the core.

Pat Robertson would know all about a pact with the devil since they are well acquainted

Pat Robertson is a smart man, unlike Sarah Palin, he knows who he's talking to and how to get the worst of them to pay.

He's very good at what he does, indeed.

Is he a Christian though? I hope not because if he actually believes the hate he spews then he's a sociopathic clown instead.
Good question!

Robertson showing yet again what a fundie fvcktard he is.

How funny is it that so many hacks are still up in a tizzy about Rev. Wright, but somehow this kind of douchebaggery gets only the most cursory of acknowledgment?

It's a logical fallacy, he's as much of a Christian as anyone else who proclaims to be one, there are no rules for this shit, you are a Christian if you believe Jesus is your saviour, PERIOD.
Your standards are accurate. The question, though, is if he truly does believe that. Do you think he acts like a guy who does?

the Haitian Revolution began in 1791, years before Napoleon took over France as Consul. Napoleon III didn’t come to power until 1848. So clearly Robertson is confused on the basic history.

Among other things. And surely there is a copy of this contract somewhere.

Fundamentalist? In what way? From what i have seen you are simply one of those who justifies her own actions that are not according to faith with forgiveness, that isn't fundamentalist at all.

Not that i mind, not at all, rather the opposite, i think that forgiveness is one trait that i miss because i cannot forgive those who do wrong.

Of course, we're in different situations.

Fundamentalist in the original sense of the word - believing the fundamentals of what the Bible says. The word has lately been co-opted by a subgroup and come to mean "extremist" but I cling to the original meaning, even though I know it's a futile effort. :)

And why would he say shit like this if he doesn't believe in it? Surely he has enough money/fame by now.

You learn something every day. About all I know about Pat Robertson is my occassional channel surfing brief stop on the 700 Club, but he always seemed more even keeled and rational than the rest of the televangelists. The news segments on his show can even be interesting.

But to blame the troubles of current Haitians on a supposed pact their long ago ancestors made is so wrong and misguided. Doesn't God judge each of us on what we do in our lives? If not, what incentive do Haitians (and the vast rest of us with a black sheep somewhere in our ancestoral past) have to be good today-if we are doomed regardless?

On a somewhat related point, I have seen it argued that much of Haiti's current economic woes result from France bleeded it dry for decades for reparations for France's lost slaves when independence was achieved. I don't know enough about Haiti's history to evaluate that claim.

Did the President closely and personally align himself with Robertson? Yeah, that makes it a SLIGHT distinction there.

He is as much a Christian as Osama bin Laden is a Muslim.

So you are in favor of the death penalty?

In some cases, yes. I can't say I'd say Pat qualifies for it though. Sure he's a bigoted douche and he fleeces people of their money but he doesn't deserve death for it.
