When a woman at work was telling me about the story, my response was "wait, so he abuses her". The reply, and I shit you not, was "yes, but he loves her". Needless to say, its not a book I, or my GF are interested in.

I've heard enough about it to have chosen never to read it or watch the movies. I find it thoroughly disgusting.

My point is that the motivations of the perpetrators, and any characteristics of the victim, are purely incidental to the vileness of the act.
Are we opposed to adults threatening to maim and murder a child only when that child is LGBT, or are we not opposed to adults threatening to maim and murder a child under any and all circumstances?
The clowns that pull this kind of shit like to justify it on the basis that LGBT are protected by some kind of "special rights." That is wrong. We oppose their criminal behavior regardless of who they choose to victimize.

This is a good example of looking at issues in the abstract and not getting lost in the details. Both methods should invoke action, but, the understanding of the abstraction allows you to deal with more than one singular issue.

It should be. This type of thing is a great way to get crazies to go out and hurt people. Further, there is no need to bring the spouses into this. Why would anyone need to know the address of where they work, phone numbers ect? How does that help?

I feel you on this. We have horrible people talking about doing horrible things to a 14yo. You know my stance on violence, and they are walking that line very close for me, so I know how you must feel here.

This hits close to home for me because of friends I have and things they went through. If I were closer to this, I might not be able to take my current position. Its times like these that help reinforce the rule of law, because mob rule is too destructive.

Reading more of what these people posted makes all this worse, so don't go looking for it. Its way worse than what was posted here.

I did look for it and as citizens I think it's our responsibility. I wasn't them to pay but not with their physical well being or their lives. Their livelihoods... Yeah, destroy them!

Outting and doxxing racists who, in public, have voiced their racism is a social service. Nothing less.

There is no right to social immunity for being an asshole.

Punish them for sure, but, lets not destroy them. Nothing is served by doing that. We need a path for people to be punished, and then grow back to being a productive person. As they are right now they are not.

Doxxing is a clear violation of rule 9 on this forum.

Posting info of users is a violation. This particular thing is not.

That said, lets not speak in metaphors. What you will get from this is people threatened and or acts of violence committed. There is no justification for that in this case. Spreading of personal information does nothing but incite mob rule. That is why its banned on this forum.

Bigots are hopefully harmed economically and personally. That's what's gained by the rest of society.

They should suffer no consequences physically, but in every other way their person should be affected for their choices.

What is the value in their being protected?
