So the first snow of the season started this evening. It started about 2 hours ago but has been very, very light. There's nothing sticking to the road and even very little on the grass. And yet, every 5 minutes or so, the local stations feel the need to cut in and make a big announcement about it, showing us the local radar and giving us assurance that they will be tracking it very closely.

Give me a fvcking break!

Just had your first snow? Geez, here in Akron, OH we had over a foot before thanksgiving 😛

Unseasonably snowy that's for sure, and cold. Global warming at its finest! /sarcasm

I went to work for a few hours this morning (SW Ohio) and saw at least 7 wrecks (mostly single car). While there were some slick spots I mostly drove in 2WD since I was going 70MPH.

I think that today is the first accumulated snow of the season for my area... but I could be wrong. Roads are icy, maybe 1/2" of snow, next to nothing. I drove my mom to town and we went shopping... very few people are out because of the "hazardous" conditions. lol

(SE Ohio)

The snow already stopped and they are still interrupting the game to tell us that it stopped in most of the broadcast area. ugh

I'm in central VA if anyone is wondering.

32 inches this year so far here. about 17 on the ground. in the last week we have not had a day where we have gotten less than 2 inches.

1/2 inch is hazardous conditions? Less than 25 miles from me, the total snowfall this season is 80". I'm not aware of anything being canceled yet due to the "hazardous" conditions. We western NYers know how to drive when it's snowing. My son's school got 1 1/2 feet yesterday; none of his classes were canceled. You Virginians are soft.

We had a light dusting. I was lucky enough to get the last loaf of bread and last gallon of milk!!!! I had to rush to the store and fight 4 250+ pound housewifes just to get it. I felt like a lone running back trying to break through the defensive line. But I made it and the milk and bread are mine.

No other store in the area that has milk and bread? Or were you being sarcastic and i just didn't get it?

I think 1" + heavy snow coming down would get classes canceled when I lived in the Poughkeepsie area. Bastards would stretch the snow delays up till the very last minute before declaring a snow day. I really don't remember any major accidents either...

Here in DFW they freak out when it does snow. A light dusting -> cars slow to a crawl on the interstate. Plus there are all sorts of idiotic accidents.

its been snowing here all day today.

round 2 is supposed to start late tonight with blowing snow and 5 - 15 cm of that white stuff.

You snortin' coke or something? It was 74 degrees here today and there was zero precipitation here last night and certainly no snow.

Does it even snow in San Diego?

I drove from Pittsburgh to Detroit today in snow the whole way. It wasn't until I got to Detroit that there started being accidents; I think I saw three. The roads were actually slipperier in Pittsburgh, I thought.

I was in Asheville, NC a couple of weeks ago and it snowed without any accumulation to speak of and school was canceled that day. Apparently it's not common there.
