:Q

They must be loaded (and/or stupid) to waste money like that!

hahaha that's awesome. That's quite expensive for something that's going to melt in 30 minutes though. (guessing CA = California?)

Come to think of it, that would be a nice business to start up lol. Get a snow machine (not a ski doo but an actual machine that makes snow :p) and sell snow by the ton.

I've been living with this annoyance for years. My town, a good old small town, has a lot of wealthy and intelligent individuals... but apparently no one that possesses any common sense. Every time it flurries, or if there's even a mention of snow on the news, people freak out and run to the grocery and drug stores to stock up. Every single time this happens, the snow hardly amounts to anything. Everyone drove big old SUVs too... Land Cruisers, Landrovers, Hummers, etcetera... so you would think that even if there was snow, they'd be able to get out to get stuff. It was good for some entertainment though... my mom always had food and stuff in the house, and she always said, "there's no way the storm is going to be THAT bad... and even if we get snowed in, we have food". It was always nice to sit back and laugh.

LOL why would you even stock up on food over snow? Do they think its like seriously the end of the world or something and the sky is falling?

People like that would seriously freak here. We get 2-3 feet of snow over night. Next morning, the day starts as a normal day and continues on as a normal day. Always fun to wake up to a 3 foot drift right at the door. Then take it off the car, then ram through the snow bank.

Seriously. These people are total wusses... they drive big fvcking SUVs and they're afraid of going out in light snow. I drive a damn Cavalier and I don't pussy out.

w00t! We're supposed to get at least 8 inches in Grand Rapids, MI on tuesday night. I'm going up north this next weekend snowboarding with some friends, I'm glad the weather has been cooperating.

Just got in & looked in the garage. Had to laugh, I've got four different styles of snow shovels and a snowblower.
  • A pusher type for light snow
    A regular(?) shovel for throwing
    An offset handle throwing shovel
A coal shovel for cleaning off packed down snow.

Like an Eskimo with different names for snow.

You sound like me :) 1 foot of snow? Shovel the sidewalk? What for? It'll just pack down. And, after it does, if it gets slippery at all, I just dump some coal cinders on it. :) I once made the mistake of shoveling a path to our barn (4 times the length of our sidewalk) - the snow simply drifted across the field and filled my path in within a few hours. i.e. 5 hours later, only another inch of snow had fallen, but there was no trace of my path in the 2 feet of snow.

Haha yep pretty much.

Also driving is actually better in the winter. The pot holes are filled in making the road smoother, and the idiots are all in the ditch, leaving more room for regular drivers.
