Help me understand, if this was just leaked today how does that say it was part of an 8 month investigation. Other stories I've read alluded to them having the info for some time as well. What happened today, and did some people have access earlier?

The leak is being managed by the grandly but laughably named “International Consortium of Investigative Journalists”, which is funded and organised entirely by the USA’s Center for Public Integrity. Their funders include

Open Society Foundation (Soros)

I see it the other way. You can't fake 2.6T of data about 214K shell corporations.

Dunno where it'll end up, but the shit is gonna hit the fan tomorrow morning.

This is very different than Snowden because it's not a matter of national security for western govts.

It is finally starting to trickle around. USAToday and Huffpo have something about it. Still radio silence from the big guys.

Major media outlets pick up on the story & people doing business with Mossack Fonseca start sweating bullets along with tax haven bankers everywhere.

If true then this is an enormous & damaging disclosure. I'd be surprised if the IRS isn't waiting with warrants for US branches of the company to open their doors. Remember the tax amnesty in the wake of the Swiss banking scandal? Woe be unto any US "investors" involved in this who didn't use that opportunity to get right with the IRS.

Can't wait. I don't believe he would say that if it were just US athletes. 😉 Two last names I would not be surprised to hear is "clinton" and "trump". However one couldn't expect to be that lucky.
