Excuse my ignorance, but don't people looking for really quiet cases these days use 120mm or 90mm fans?
Correction: look at the Antec Super Lanboy. 120 intake and exhaust. SWEET.Well, if a case you otherwise like happens to have 80mm mounts, these panaflos will still be very quiet as long as you don't have to move too much air.
Also, even if you have one 120mm in the back, I always have a fan in front of my harddrives, and I've never seen a 120mm mount in that position.

Theres actually still some debate on this issue from the diehard quiet people. General public agrees with you though. My take is two 80mm fans undervolted move more air then one 120mm undervolted with just the slightest increase in noise. But also depends on the fans of course and there are so many variables/differents points to argue for each side.

(Note: When picking fans, keep in mind that 30Dba is twice as loud as 29Dba - that's how the decibel scale works.)
i dont get the shift key comment...care to clarify?

Sorry for the newbie question, but I only have 1 fan in my PC and that is the one over my heatsink (which is pretty noisy). Can I purchase the Panaflo 80mm fan and replace my current heatsink fan?
Thx.
Obviously, he appreciates the result of a very cool-running computer case.Originally posted by: glorygunk
Working on your case of ..... 100 fans?????
Wow, really? Hmm. Maybe I should do an experiment, and replace my BB Sunons with some of these Panaflos, just to see what the real difference is.Originally posted by: tr1kstanc3
i replaced 4 system fans in my main box with these panaflos. originally had the coolermaster ballbearing fans rated at 25db. these chinaflos blow the coolermasters away. before my computer sounded like a small private jet under my desk, now i can hear my ionizer over the computer.
