The scary part about Nazism, Racism, and Terrorism is that all lie within ourselves. But when a society becomes so rotten and is propped up by overwhelming force, even ordinary people will band together and seek to tear down the evil empire. So its was with the founding fathers of the USA, so it was with the mujaheddin in Afghanistan, and so it is all over the world, past, present, and I dare say far into the future. Even in Hollywood pop culture, movies like Red Dawn glorify the terrorism that would happen in the USA if the Russians took over the USA. In short, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. And its time to ask, even in a time when some cry they will get my gun, when they pry it from my cold dead fingers, what would it take for you to become a terrorist? And at what point would you decide there is no hope for the present government meaning it must be torn down because it can't be fixed? And if our government were to become almost totally Nazi, I would hope many of you would make the decision the German people did not in 1937 or so.

Having said that, maybe we can now go back and revisit what was going on in the mind of very young Ayers, a man of ability and intelligence, in the the late 1960's. As a racist and rapidly going Nazi US government were drafting almost all black men to fight in an unpopular quagmire in Vietnam, using them like Canon fodder, as inner city infrastructures crumbled. Granted, what Ayers did then was illegal, but he took part in criminal acts that did have an end effect of ending the draft and firing a shot across the bow of a government descending into stupidity. And Ayers, was caught, ended up serving time in prison, and he paid his debt to society.

Maybe some on this board think that today's solution is better, and Ayers should have been sent to Gitmo, and never allowed out of prison. And we should have done the same to all critics of the war like Jane Fonda, the Chicago 7, Dr. Spock, the NYT when they released the Pentagon Papers, and especially rascals like Dr. Martin Luther King and everyone else committing acts of social disobedience.

Well it turns out that time in prison did give Mr. Ayers time to reflect. And he evidently decided there was hope for this government after all, the anti thesis of terrorism, and he has gone on to become a productive member of society and a highly respected Educator. And Mr. Ayers is now building up our country and not tearing it down. And Mr. Ayers also has every right to be politically active, and he and many, many, many,
others happen to see Barack Obama as having the right stuff.

Maybe others see McCain as being the one who happens to have more of the right stuff, that is your right, but anyone who thinks Barack Obama is discredited by any association with Ayers, is, IMHO, a total idiot.

Here's one quick run down of 10 reasons he's not just some "guy in the neighborhood"

But again, much of even those details haven't been looked into and there are other "reports" from other right-wing sources that dive alot more into individual "coincidences".

Wrong, it has not been investigated. It's been looked at and dismissed by the mainstream - they've done nothing more than surface work. Sure, it gives BHO cover but is it the "truth"? We don't know what the "truth" is because it's not been investigated thoroughly enough.

If Rupert Murdoch, Lush Limbaugh, Billo and the rest of your favorite neocon liars with all of the resources at their disposal, can't find anything to substantiate your bullshit, and it means that much to you, and go out and prove it, yourself.

If you can't, repeating it doesn't make it any more true. But keep it up, clown boy. It's just more evidence of the McCain campaign's desperation, as well as your own.

John McCain's a lying, two faced POS who couldn't keep his Double Talk Express on track if it had training wheels.

Again, there are some right-wing people digging into this and they have found more - however - YOU people and the MSM dismiss it due to it's source. That's why the mainstream should do this so we can come closer to the real "truth".

lol at the duhversion to McCain. As if I care even if it was on topic.

No, we dismiss it for the same reason that we rejected Joe McCarthy...assigning guilt by association is pure and simple evil. I have to say that, all campaigning aside, I never would have figured McCain to go the McCarthy route...no matter HOW badly his campaign was going. I really thought he had more honor and integrity than what I've seen...
This is a sad campaign...

No one is saying BHO is a terrorist because he's associated himself with one. The point is character and judgement. And it's not just Ayers. It seems to look like BHO has had a whole string of "questionable" associations and has had to dismiss them all as not the person I thought they were type BS. Wright, Ayers, Rezko, etc...
Also what will likely play into this is the attempts at lying by BHO - IF substantial connections are found. Remember - BHO has made the claim that he's just some guy in the neighborhood...

Both have associated with shady characters, it happens with politics. It'd be another thing if either had supported those shady characters or their illegal acts which neither have.

He was 8 years old when this man committed these acts. Obama met this man more than 20 years later. There is no evidence that Ayers was engaging in any terrorist activity since. So how in the hell does knowing a guy who did something in his past more than 20 years ago make Obama guilty?

Palin addressing the Alaska Independence Party, a radical secessionist party that her husband was a registered member of from 1995 to 2000, from the Alaska governor's office for their convention earlier this year.

The AIP gathered enough signatures to put a secessionist referendum on the state ballot in Fall 2006, but a state court decision had the referendum removed on the basis that secession from the US is illegal.

Hey, she opened the door herself with her own comments. Who pals around with terrorists? Or, in this case, traitors?

Are you joking? You earlier tried to equate Obama's ties to a radical domestic terrorist to Palin having the same relationships with abortion clinic bombers and Tim McVeigh and all you can post is a 1:30 clip of her addressing the AIP as a governor? Give me a break.

I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself. I'll be waiting.

That was really lame. I dont have an opinion on Ayers. But addressing a convention welcoming them is a gross violation of what again?

And serving on a charity board a few years back with Ayers, who was never convicted of any crime, is a gross violation of what again?

So I'm glad you agree that this whole line of attack is lame.

You DO know there is more to it then just the "charity board", right?

You know what makes me depressed about the future of this country? You don't know enough about the world around you to realize that being a Muslim terrorist and a commie are mutually exclusive. One is left wing, one is right wing. Why isn't that obvious to you? Did the education system just fail you, or what?

Supporting abortion clinic bombers as McCain has repeatedly.

Obama hasn't in any way ever expressed support for anything Ayers or any other radical group did during the Vietnam war.

"Ayers worked with Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley in shaping the city's school reform program,[36]and was one of three co-authors of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge grant proposal that in 1995 won $49.2 million over five years for public school reform.[37] In 1997 Chicago awarded him its Citizen of the Year award for his work on the project.[38] Since 1999 he has served on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago, an anti-poverty, philanthropic foundation established as the Woods Charitable Fund in 1941.[39]According to Ayers, his radical past occasionally affects him, as when, by his account, he was asked not to attend a progressive educators' conference in the fall of 2006 on the basis that the organizers did not want to risk an association with his past.[40]"

Oh, that's right, everyone in Chicago has been duped by terrorists.

What poor judgement they all have.

Annenberg foundation has long been focused on domestic terror.

We all understand that Obama was 8 when Ayrers went on his bombing spree.

The question is when did he learn that Ayers had been a terrorist. And what his reaction was to learning that.
Especially after 9-11 with Ayers saying that he does not regret what he did.

NO ONE is suggesting that Obama is a terrorist because he knows Ayers either. We are questioning his judgement. And there are real questions about Obama's leftist views.

Obama is trying to make everyone think he is this nice mainstream moderate. But his history and associations suggest otherwise. He has a VERY liberal voting record. He associates himself with very leftist people and groups such as Ayers, Rev. Wright, ACORN and Rashid Khalidi.

Think of it this way. When McCain was endorsed by Hagee the left went nuts. Despite the fact that McCain has never been to Hagee's house. Never served on a board with Hagee, never co-chaired a board with Hagee, was never part of a discussion group with Hagee, never wrote a cover blurb for a Hagee book etc etc.
