Stop posting, since you don't know what you're talking about.

My S12-500 only has 17A and 16A 12v dual rails and runs my complete system overclocked(including X1900XTX) fine.

Antec TruePower 480W Blue

These cards draw some current - idle PSU fan speed went from 900/1250rpm idle/load with a 7800GT to 1250/1950(max)rpm idle/load with an X1900XT. Voltages are fine and stable, though.

Interesting a 350W PSU can handle it. Also interesting on Aspire also holding up the dutues as well. Anyone know who makes Aspire's PSUs? Or are they in-house built? Just curious while I was shopping for SFF cases, looked at the Q-Pack first (before getting a MicroFly [no PSU]), and everyone was saying to get rid of the Aspire 420W PSU before anything else.

I'm surprised, this turned into a pretty active topic.

Keep the replies coming guys.

^ He's right. You should look at the combined power on the +12V rails and make sure that it's above 30A or so.

I forgot to mention, the Enermax FMA II 535W, for example, is rated at 22A +12V1/22A +12V2 and combined +12V at 36A.

Another 520 Powerstream user here. Although it's a lot more than needed, as the system uses about 230W on load.

I have a 400W Silenx PSU.

Is 18A on a 12V rail enough for these cards????............

Damn, how much is it bent?

That's the risk in taking an OEM. I'm guessing it came sort of loose in a box with just the needed cords and drivers right? My old X1900XTX did when I got it from Sapphire OEM.

Yeah, everything was all loose, it was double wrapped in bubblewrap though.
It's bent a little bit, nothing crazy, but i'm not taking a chance since it was a $300 item.

I got the PowerColor 1900XTX not long after release and it was the same way. Didn't feel comfortable with that so I RMA'd and the next one was also bent. I've been running it ever since with no problems, kinda weird though.....

The specs I've seen say the X1900XTX uses ~10A at stock clocks. Start overclocking and raising voltages and you're probably looking at 12-15A. That's very little left over for the rest of your system. I'd say 18A is way too little, especially if you have an oced cpu and more than just a DVD burner and one 80mm fan.

Probably not, just to be safe. I used to have a 420w Enlight with 18A @ 12V on a highly overclocked Sempron system, and had to reduce my overclocks when I added a Geforce 6800 to my system to keep the same level of stability.

Of course, you may not be overclocked, but I'm just trying to lay down a safe limit.

My PowerColor was the same way I heard of a few manufacterers having that issue. I took the HSF off and the bend went away so it was something with the stock HSF. Its not there at all with my Accelero X2.

Jesus Christ when will you stop posting?

Firstly; I never mentioned SmartPower, so now you've made yourself look like a dumbass through assuming I will inform you that his PSU is a TruePower. Secondly; As for "just adding" the rails, I'm not that retarded, but I couldn't be arsed working out and deducing ~30% from an arbitrary figure.

The fact is the X1900XT 512MB runs perfectly fine on these identical rigs with the CPU OCed to 3GHz and the X1900XT 512MB OCed above XT-X clocks. Christ, moron, your posts are painful to read as it is and can usually be ignored, don't make me read anything you write by directly replying to me ever again.

Man, that guy gets totally abused every time he posts.

Is a x1900xt alright on a ENERMAX LIBERTY 400W with 30 Amps on the dual 12 rails?

Yes. Enermax doesn't BS around when they rate a product - 400W is definitely safe up to 400W loads and they often go higher.

For example the Liberty 500W tested to be functional up to ~535W.

OCZ is usually very good for their ratings too, because OCZ uses sustained wattage, not peak to measure.

400W+ Enermax/OCZ you should be fine. 450W+ Antec, you should be fine.
