The leopard is attacking a gorilla troop, that's mostly females and children. Same thing with lion attacks on villages. If the lions were attacking an organized force, they would have no chance. If the villagers decide the lions are a menace and needs to be eliminated, that pride of lions would be gone. But people let them live because of our mercy, not the lions hunting skill.

I've showed abstracts of the autopsy showing it was a male gorilla killed in a struggle with a leopard, and it came out it was healthy; not a sick, weak, old gorilla but a prime specimen...and many more follow ups on leopard predation on gorillas was in that link.

Organized force? I guess where you live, you strap your selves up lion killing gear every day then; funny you dont seem to live in lion territory do you? Its random buddie, they come as they please, talk is cheap for people who dont get to experince these type of events, not to mention there are laws that protect these animals now since they are in the indangered list.

Tigers have been doing that for years, no one just rialed the mob up and faced him head on, they would clean out villages of hundreds...

Hundreds of people running in terror>>>>>Your ridculous opinion just a few people can/should stand up to one.

lol and just to think, the lion has been documented killing every animal in this picture short of the Bison, Gorilla; and the blue whale.

What has the gorilla killed? Nothing short from vegatables and fruits.

To bad there isint a similar pic that shows a lion and gorilla next to the other; to show that the gorilla next to a lion looks rather small since on average and at max we are looking at a 100-200 pound advantage for the lion.

A Pygmy marmoset, the smallest monkey in the world, can take on a lion. I don't see why a pack of 10 gorillas would have a problem.

Zhou Xu, the famous 2nd century wildlife chronicler, witnessed 23 prides of lions hunted down and eradicated by a single hyena.

Ali Al-Zanzauda, perhaps the world's first zoologist, witnessed prides of lions killed by single zebras.

When you see or read about a lion take down another animal, the other animal is usually physically sick. For example, lions can usually only kill a diabetic or obese zebra. Or they can only kill mentally sick, depressed zebras that have lost the will to live. These animals offer themselves to the lions. They're not really hunted down in an even fight.

Links? Is this a joke?

I have physical, dusty, rare, out-of-print scholarly tomes. How does one link to a handwritten 3rd century transcript of "Zebras of the Western Trade Routes"? Most of these texts haven't even been translated into English.

I said where I got them from: "I have physical, dusty, rare, out-of-print scholarly tomes."

These books are on my shelf in my office. Some are in a safe environmental clean room so that they will be preserved for future generations. Some of us get our knowledge from actual sources rather than The Internet.

I have my own sources. You have none.

Your sources look like they're from Geocities or Tripod type of websites.

I have Al-Zanzauda, Zhou Xu, and Hasdrubalan. I have Zebras of the Western Trade Routes, Of Lions and the Southern Omo, Treatise on the Defense Mechanisms of Sub-Saharan Herbivores, and The Diabetic-Free Equine: Nature's Might.

Ah yes, Zhou Xu, a pioneer in the field. I must add that his observations were corroborated by the writings of Zhang Qian during the Han dynasty.

Such historical accounts of horses trampling lion prides can be found engraved onto stone stele in the Xi'an Beilin Museum. Please visit there if you doubt their authenticity.

And exactly how many centurys are those? 3rd you said, first show me a source and link to any of those so called prides of lions being killed off by single Zebras, then we'll talk.

You have tombs?

lol For starters, we can view some alibies of historians who excavated and studyed numerous time lines of China one of the oldest civilizations as far back as the 6th century and before...

Chinese and buddist; lions dominated the 6th ; 7th and 8th century

"In the year 635 the emperor tai' tsung, received a lion from samarkand, and ordred Yu shih-nan to compose a rhapsody in its honor. The scholar poet turned out a characteristic fu couched in ornate lan-guage, expressing the awe struck attitude of the medieval chinese toward the King of the beast:

It glares its eyes---and lighting flashes,
It vents its voice---and thunder echoes,

It drags away the tiger.
Swallows down the bear,
Splits the rhinocerous,
Cleaves the elephant,

It crushes the mighty guar between gums and palate
It bends the boa snake between finger and palm

You dont have a single link to anything of what bullshit is spewing out your mouth.
