I also purchased a P4S533 along with a P4 1.6A and Corsair XMS2700c2 (DDR333) memory. If I want to overclock my P4 on this motherboard what core voltage should I use? Also, any other advice would be good. 🙂

I have the same set-up. Mine runs 2400mhz (150fsb)@1.6v with the Corsair running 2/2/2/5/auto @2.5v.

😀

Cool thanks for the reply. Also should I get a special CPU cooler or can I use the one that comes with the retail P4? Is it bad if I don't use Artic Silver on the heatsink also? Sorry for so many questions, I'm kind of new to the whole overclocking thing. 🙂

I still can't get the sucky thing working.

Got the board back from Atacom - they sent a pretty little picture of the motherboard with the 12v connector circled and a note saying make sure and plug this up. Duh! It does the same thing it did when it left my house. Turn on the power and the only thing that happens is the LED light on the board turns on. No fans turn on nothing. I have a brand new P4 1.6, PC3200 memory, Motherboard, and video card and they aren't worth crap cause they don't work.

Can you get your hands on a different power supply?

I've had a similar nightmare with a whole different set of components,
and it turned out to be a borderline power supply issue. My gut tells
me that you are probably looking at the same kind of thing.

Ok maybe someone can help me with this one. 🙂 I finally got my computer running fine and everything. The I go to change the ram settings to 2-2-2-5. When I do that and reboot my screen stays black (the little green light stays yellow). So I turn of the system (unplug it and all) and restart it. Same thing keeps happening! Now the funny thing is after a while of leaving it like that (maybe 2 mins) it goes into the BIOS (light turns green) so I know that it's not my Video card. IT then goes and says that the BIOS is in safe mode. I went ahead and changed everything back to stock 16x100 (have a p41.6a with 2 sticks of Corsair pc2700) and changed the ram back up high (p[icked the SPD setting). I go ahead and save it and restart the PC and it still does it... but after a while it goes back into the BIOS showing the settings I choose to be there. I don't know what it could be has anyone seen this before. Thanks in advance. 🙂

Well I just heard the voice from my speakers. It says no CPU installed 🙁 . I am hoping I didn't burn my P4 already =/.

Hehe I would but then I won't have a motherboard. 😉 Ok, went ahead and removed the CPU and heatsink and reseated it. Somehow it did something and everything is back to normal! I just have one question regarding memory settings. I have two sticks of Corsair CMX512-2700C2 memory. Is a setting of Cas 2-3-3-5 bad? Also, how do I find out if my memory is running at DDR 333?

I have the same asusp4s533 board and have no problems besides the usb ports on the case.
My question is has anyone been able to get all 6 usb ports to work?
I was thinking of getting an extra 2 usb's with a standart ribbon connectors and force them on the front of my case.
My other choice is to go with another mobo, but I really like the bios on this one.
Has anyone compared this to asusp4b533 with intell chipset?

Regards.

All 6 work on my P4S533 🙂

All 6 of mine work...I got anothe USB connector due to building a PC for a person that didnt need any USB (and didnt know it came with connectors for 2 more), so I kept it

Barrei i feel like an idiot for aguing with you earlier about hte P4S533. I have just RMA'd that board and have decided to go INTEL. I now understand what you were trying to say to me. I'm gettin an Abit BG7 btw.

You were able to hook up the front case usb's?
Which case do you have?

3DCool Tornado 1000. The front usb ports ala an Asus iPanel🙂

I have had this P4s533 for 3 weeks now and it seems ok except for the crappy memory scores in sandra (P4 1.6A @ 156FSB )w/ PC 3000 crapola from OCZ. Interesting enough though I initially ran this board with a 2.2A @ 120FSB and the memory benchmark did a whole lot better than RAMBUS??? What kind of mem scores are most of you getting?

P4 1.6a @2400/1.6v with a 512mb stick of original Samsung PC2700 set at 375mhz (CPU/MEM ratio of 4:5), 2/3/3/7/1

RAM Int Buffered iSSE2 Bandwidth 2824 MB/s
Ram Float Buffered iSSE2 Bandwidth 2826 MB/s

Well I have built a number of P4S533's for people and yet to have a problem with any of them, I was reading a review where they were saying when it comes to stable the P4S533 is the super fast 440BX, I don't know about the super fast part but they are super stable boards, Like I said I even built me one as a back up to my Athlon, I don't know why some people get bent out of shape if you don't buy what they have

Really nice scores! I think its time to dump OCZ.
