150fsb:400ddr benchies are posted ~ needed to boost the voltage to 1.6v tho 🙁
155fsb:413ddr is up next.

still not faster then my 1.6A benchmarks yet......

Nice chip, THUGSROOK! My 1.8A just arrived today (identical specs as yours) so I'm very excited to see your excellent results! *does a happy dance!* 😀 😀 😎 I'll probably be posting a thread of my own when I get my system together - my motherboard (P4B533-V) should get here tomorrow. 😀

*prays really hard that motherboard gets here tomorrow*

155fsb:413ddr benchies are posted ~ needed to boost the voltage to 1.67v tho 🙁
im just about out of voltage (1.7v max)
160fsb:427ddr is up next.... maybe. (probably not)

benchmark scores are finally starting to beat my 1.6a 😛

Must be a good week for Newegg....I also received the same processor/specs. 🙂 I am teaming it with an ABIT IT7 MAX, Radeon 9700, and Corsair XMS 3200 Rev. 2.1.

I more than likely will be watercooling mine. I have a custom made waterblock that included a P4 adapter. 😉

and that's all folks!

157fsb:419ddr benchies are posted, and as far as it will go on 1.7v.

Let the stress testing begin! 😉

yep ~ and i got pretty much the same results as you SCK 😉
155fsb is looking good for me ~ but you know im gonna push for 156fsb 2808mhz stable 😀

interesting...the only difference btw ATi and Nvidia seems to be in UT2003 Demo on BOTMATCH only...
yours nvidia beats my ATi...weird...
might have to do with other components...but most likely some setting under video tab...

I must say that this is a sweet processor. 🙂 Just for the helluvit, I installed the retail HSF to see what it would do. I flashed the BIOS in the IT7 to the Overclocker's revision that allows increased DDR voltage, and did not even reinstall XP Pro from my previous AT7 MAX2 installation. (Just installed needed Intel drivers)

EDIT: I did not even apply AS3 to the HSF, (Stock Intel thermal pad) or North Bridge HS. (I may add a fan later)

I have been looping 3DMark2001 SE & Prime95 all afternoon. Damn...The retail HSF is quiet. 🙂 I can't wait until I install my watercooler and Radeon 9700 and see what it will do. 😉

Results:

CPU @ 2.75GHz
CPU Voltage: 1.65
153/76/38

Sandra:

Memory: 3120/3120
CPU: 5189/3382
MM: 10406/13643

3DMark2001 SE (128MB retail Radeon 8500)

10195

UT2003 Bench @ 1024x768

Flyby: 121 FPS
Botmatch: 60 FPS

UT2003 Bench @ 1280x960

Flyby: 81 FPS
Botmatch: 50 FPS

Technonut ~ right on par with my chip 😀
how are your temps?
i hit a max of 50*C during prime95 at my current speed.

SCK ~ as im sure you know, all testing was done in "High Quality" D3D mode.

😀

how are your temps?
Underload, a little toasty @ 65C. Rock solid though. For a retail HSF, it is impressive. My Custom Built waterblock & cooling rig should do it justice. 😉

BTW: I am getting those memory scores with the 512MB Corsair XMS 3200 Rev. 2.1 timings @ 2.5/7/3/3. Should be even better tweaked.

65*C :Q
hold on ~ im comin over with some marshmellows!
thats way too hot ~ the CPU will throttle @ 67*C. (+/-)

thx for letting us know the difference in HSFs tho! 😀

At idle it is 50.5 C. I guess my watercooler is going on pronto!. 😉 I was just curious what the retail HSF would do out of the box.

just for the sake of testing ~
you should try some AS and see what the difference is.
its obvious the Retail cooler cant handle your OC 🙁

I don't even have the side cover on.... Are you running a 1.8A with the retail HSF at 2.75 GHz / 1.65 core voltage? I am just curious. I am sure that the HSF is installed properly.

EDIT: The fan speed is only showing as 3125 RPM at idle.....

case cooling is a serious topic 😉

if removing your side panel makes the temps go down ~ you dont have good case cooling!
my temps go up if i remove my side panel 😉

idle cpu = 30*C
idle case = 29*C

max cpu = 50*C
max case = 31*C

im sure the water cooling will cool it well ~ but be careful! 😉

Yes, I am aware of the fan mod. I really did not plan on using the retail HSF long term. I appreciate the topic of case cooling being brought up, but rest assured, I have been at this game for quite some time. 😉 I have quite a few modded cases that I made... air and watercooled... 🙂

thats what i figured 😉
...but needed to answer it that way for the benifit of others reading this.

im really interested in seeing how much of a difference your water cooler will make :Q

Nope, 1.6A @ 2.38, but 1.7V (actually 1.71-1.72 at idle). (with retail HS) Maybe yours dissipates a little more heat, probably not much though. I also have a 9700, aka "the case heater". 🙂

idle: CPU=34C, case=32C

load: CPU=50C, case=36C

Anyways, 50C at idle is really hot, I think it's the hottest I've ever heard for a Northwood. 😉

i think the real problem on Techno's system is that he's using the retail TIM and its a POS.
some AS insted should yield a nice improvement.
i really like for him to try it and prove a point, since he litterally is "the worst case senario" 😉
