...and frankly, I can't remember feeling this disheartened over my fellow countrymen. :( What a wake up call. I know there's more than a few here who will howl partisan over this (go ahead, I don't care, you're wrong) but I think this movie and Richard Clarke's Against All Enemies should be required reading/viewing before Nov 2. I must say that after finishing Clarke's book, I grudgingly have more respect for Clinton. The typical conservative rhetoric on liberals being 'weenies' no longer holds any weight with me.

I digress. I would have preferred the movie to be more in line with an investigative reporting special, a al 20/20 or Dateline, as the dramatic music and editting kind of got to me, but there was just no ignoring the plain facts that piece laid out, particulary as the majority of it came straight from FOX footage. The parts on the typical repug talking points and Bill O'Reilly were just priceless. The commentary from former FOX journalists was particulary damning I thought.

Since I was a young teen, I've always thought of FOX news as pretty lame, using dubious language, anything but 'fair and balanced,' and always prone to overloading the screen with ultra-patriotic imagery and themes. Now FOX has about as much credibility with me as pravda.

Discuss.

I consider myself a centrist and moderate. I voted for Bush Sr. and Dole. I have always known that FOX news was slanted journalism at best and at times flagrant in attempts to sway opinion. My conservative friends are unable to see this unfair and unbalanced bias since from where they stand FOX is presenting the news as they see the world, or from their slanted position.

Just because its slanted, doesn't mean its wrong.

Is there anyone who doesn't realize that Fox is conservative-biased? Isn't this a non-issue? Sort of like complaining that the Lifetime Channel is biased towards women viewers! *gasp!* People who like what they hear watch it, others don't. Doesn't Murdock admit that he created Fox News to try and "balance" the liberal media? That seems to imply that he intends for it to lean right, as that's about the only way I know to "balance" a left-leaning situation, no?

Please watch the movie before trying to invalidate it. The piece conclusively illustrates Fox, in it's own 'words,' as being both slanted and wrong.

Fox being conservatively biased isn't the issue. It's a political commerical trying to masquerade as journalism, all the while putting on airs of professionalism. THAT'S the issue.

I think it's funny that you cons view anything lacking your slant as liberal, it's like objective reporting is a shade of grey that doesn't fit into your black-and-white-only visual range.

Guess Fahrenheit 9/11 is right on the money, then, eh?

I think is funny that you complain about people who only seeing black-and-white, yet you managed to throw me into the "you cons" category right off the bat. (psst.. I'm not voting for Bush in November) I was just saying that everyone knows Fox is right-biased. Just like everyone knows F-9/11 and MM are anti-Bush biased. But that movie is still a "documentary," just like Fox is still "journalism."

Ruper Murdoch's claim to fame is 'Tabloid Journalism' the Mag-Rag format
like the Sun, National Inquirer, Soap Opra Weekly, Gossip Garbage, Etc.

He feeds the pablum of 'What Your Target Audience Wants' to reinforce their
image of their little protetected, sheltered, biased, and insecure World View.

Unfortunately, the charter of the '4th Estate' - the press, is to keep the citizens
informed & provide truth and facts, not to be a house organ for Political Agenda,
none of which is being presented by the 'Conservative Media' - they manipulate
the issue for political favors and special treatment by the 'New Establishment'.
But, boy oh boy, do they cry foul and whine ablut the 'Liberal Media' being biased
when the facts are presented for what they really are.

Being a Conservative news source isnt the point. Its twisting of Facts, selective reporting, misleading tactics, creation of stories, manipulation of the message so its controlled and serves the greater agenda. Its purpose is hidden, and it is , the most successful propagation Tv channel ever on the air.

HMMM, wonder how EVERY show on Fox beats EVERY show on CNN and MSNBC, in ratings I mean.

Well, they're referring to Fox News not the regular Fox channel, but I think that's what you mean. But anyway, I'll tell you why. Neocons go to "safe" news sources for them to digest their daily dose of brainwashing. That's why they flock to Rush, Hannity, Savage and Coulter. Of course they're successful, they cater to the drones.

Oh and another thing, if your a conservative news channel, fine, but don't try to advertise yourself as "far and balance" or "we report, you decide". Frankly, it's a 24-hour a day editorial, nothing more. Take all the talking parrots away from the friendly grounds of Fox News and they wilt like a dead flower, e.g. Swift Boat Idiots for Lying.

Well, you did seem to fit the bill quite well, judging by your past posts, and coming to FOX's defense doesn't help. But kudos to you for not buying Karl Rove's BS, the number of republicans snapping out of it is steadily rising I see. I don't consider F9/11 a documentary; if you're looking for a MM supporter, you'll have to keep looking.

Fox News is fair and balanced. Usually 2 guests from 2 different view points are on.

Hello

It is well known that the Rich have been plugged into the ratings system (Neilsen) forever.

How many American Peons do you know with a Neilsen box???

So of course the ratings will come out with Fox over CNN and the rest everytime.

Well, let's examine the flagship of the Fox News channel, O'Reilly. He usually puts up sacrificial lambs to the slaughter to represent the left. These folks are not public speakers, usually, and look foolish because O'Reilly bullies and manipulates the conversation with ease.

I think Conservatives are just more likely to be couch potatoes. That and they might not want to watch those "liberal" TV shows with fictional plots and such, so 24 hr news is great.

OK, O'reilly is one show. Name me others. I agree with u on o'reilly, but Fox News is much more than that
