OT: Workstation pics?

I know this has been done before, but it's always cool to see people's setups!

My basement setup.

We play a lot of LAN games down here including BF1942 😀 The top computer on the rack is my dually rig, I need a better case for it 🙁

Sure wish I had this much space for my computers 🙁

I wish I had more space!!!!! :Q

I have one other computer in my room.

I'm probably going to have to get rid of all but my main rig and the dually at the end of summer before I leave for Western 🙁 I gotta make my car payments!

OH MY GOD IS THAT FAYGO!!!!!

What I would give for some Faygo Red Pop about now! They don't seem to know what that is down here in the south.

This is my main PC:

Pic #1

Pic #2

This was taken about a year ago. The cable modem and Linksys router have been moved downstairs to the basement, sitting on a 19" rack shelf.

The case is an old Dell 486dx-66mhz server that I got 4.5 years ago and modified for ATX motherboards.

At the time, it housed an Abit BH6 mb with a cely366@450mhz CPU, 13G bigfoot HD, 128M PC100 ram, ATI Rage 128 vid card, 56x CD-ROM. it has the original 3.5" and 5.25" floppy drive combo unit, and a 250M tape unit. I use the tape unit as a convenient handle. 🙂

Currently it houses an Asus A7V mb with an AMD t-bird 1Ghz CPU, Maxtor 30G 7200 rpm HD, Nvidia GeForce 256 32Mb vid, 256M PC-133 ram, 56x CD-ROM, 8x CD-RW (I got it for free), and again, the original 3.5"/5.25" floppy drive combo and 250M tape unit. 🙂

I used to put the case on it, but everytime I did, it wasn't long before I needed to open it up again to either tweak or test some component, so now I just leave it off. 😉

I need to take some more pics of the basement, what I have is completely outdated. 🙂

Ok that is JUST WRONG!!! Now I have to convince the wife to Road Trip from Virginia Beach to Ohio for the weekend. Thanks!😛

Not that we wouldn't love to have you visit Ohio, but it might be cheaper if you just order some Faygo on-line:

;cool:

What are those things in front of the far keyboard?

Nice 😎

Those "things" are microphones for the Ham radios that are in the shelves. I've been a Ham for 4 years now.
You didn't even notice my MountainDew GIANT mouse pad for playing Quake. hehe

😎

i will post some pics of my home setup when i get home later today
Office
Office2
you can kind of see the computer down under the desk, its a strange setup and i dont like it, but most of my office is taken up by filing cabinets.

Nice setups everyone 😀

Rack/closet
Desk

Just moved into a house so it's still much a work in progress. All the machines under the desk will be going in the closet minus the black one to the right (dual MP1600's). Front beige machine is p2/400 for VPN access to work, rear machine is media machine that will be in the basement once I get off my @$$ and configure the wireless bridge for it and the PS2. In the closet rack you can see a dual celery 533 barely in the right corner that's currently DOA (no POST), new scanner (don't need one but hard to argue w $15 AR), the baddest P2/350 in the world w 280GB of storage, 512MB, DC for my domain, running SETI, SETIQ, DNS2Go, NAVCE Parent server, DNS. It does my laundry sometimes too. 1000VA APC UPS which is currently on the fritz. Above that, POS bubble jet printer shared out on previous machine (oh yeah, it's a print server, too), tape drive, cable modem, WebRamp 700s firewall (get one now!), Linksys 802.11b router, and some 15" monitor I found in a dumpster sitting on a 4port Compaq KVM. Cables look like crap and I need to move everything into the closet soon.

Much work to do...

Casa de la SoulAssassin for anyone interested

I love the super huge cooling system on the one PC in the closet. Now that's a cooling fan! 🙂

Hey I bet it even has adjustable sppeds for those times when a high cfm is too noisy!

hehe It's even got a remote control! 🙂 Office is on 2nd floor, hot air rises, etc. Plus that rooms gets alot of sun in the afternoon. Couple weeks ago when we were actually getting sun instead of rain in the NE it was getting extremely hot in the room and the machine was BSOD'ing. That case has no exaust fans, one intake fan and only a heat sink on the processor. Need it move it to another case one of these days. It's on the list w a million other things (never buy a house unless you have hours and hours to kill). As long as you don't mind the appearance it's a h3lluva deal, $15 for a circular fan or X for a new heat sink, fan, case, etc. I'll probably put a bathroom fan in the ceiling of the closet and vent into the attic sometime this summer.
