O'Reilly will have to come up with some evidence that proves the 60Mill story.

although, reading his quotes...it reads just like o'reilly.
obviously this person has worked with him but id be pretty impressed if anyone could "imitate" his type of speech/ranting/etc so well. even if they had worked with him that long.

Ah who knows with these things. It's either:

1.) Legitimate and O'Reilly turns out to be another Rush like hypocrite.
2.) Someone milking the rich and famous for money.

In this case it appears she has tapes of the phone conversations. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

But for now...

ROFL and a bump!

When she was promoting her book on the Stern show she said O'reilly was a real assh0le. She claimed that after the show he asked her if he could have some signed dvds and said he was a fan, even though he tried to portray pornography negatively during the interview.

If this is all true and tapes become available; Moore and Franken are going to have a field day.

OMFG the Daily Show with Jon Stewart will have a field day with this. They might even do a special.

I see no reason to suppose they'll wait till there's proof.

i agree. well, i think moore would wait...simply because he doesnt have a constant media outlet (as far as i know) franken on the other hand will probably be beside himself giddy about it.

Yeah they will probably immediately jump on this but I was thinking of stuff along the lines of the "shut up" clip available at moveon.org. If a tape becomes available I'm sure there is plenty of O'reilly footage to mix the audio in with that would be quite hilarious or disturbing depending on your views.

I don't either. It's a smear. The lady's lawyer is a major Democratic donor. She probably has a bone to pick. Bill's just too smart to do this kind of thing knowing all the attention it would get.

The Democrats are getting desperate. They know how weak John Kerry is.

What's O'Rielly have to do with either the Republicans or the Democrats and this Presidential race? If it's true I seriously doubt it would have any effect on the outcome of the race.

But O'reilly says he is a registered independent.

So what does it matter that Andrea's lawyer is ?

This ought to be interesting to see how this turns out.

Either way his image is tarnished whether he did it or not.

Gasp, he lied! He registered as a Republican.

But the notion that a democratic lawyer is going after him to help Kerry because the Democrats are disparate is nothing but Republican desperation coupled with mental retardation. :D

Woman files lawsuit against President

Easy on the innuendo there. As far as I could see that woman seemed completely whacked out of her skull, and being sued by the mentally ill is an occupational hazard of being a prominent public figure. I don't think it's fair to imply this case had any merit when all available evidence suggests a mentally ill plaintiff making wild, unsupported allegations.

Evidence will have to be presented to tarnish his image.

At this point he is not saying anything, letting the laywers handle it.

If it actually goes to trial and no evidence is presented, he will come off clean, just the way he presented it last night.

If the suit get dropped, that same thing as above applies.

If there actually is any type of recording/evidence then he will be tarnished, no matter what the trial outcome is.

Men do not always think straight with the other head when it comes to power and women. The most powerful person in the US was that way.

I do not think that this has anything to do with the political system. The lady came back from CNN to Fox to work for O'Reilly at the same CNN pay.

According to her story:
O'Reilly continued to treat her the same as before (harrassment) and had agreed to not to as part of her coming back to work.

Given O'Reilly's ego, if a person came back to him who left previously, he could easily feel that he could dominate the person.

Let's give O'Reilly a mulligan for right now. As of now, he hasn't been proven to have done anything. He may be a pompous blowhard but he has rights too. Innocent until proven guilty.

Does NY have a wiretap law? :) Just wondering if she may have violated it by taping conversations with him? That would pose some ticklish questions for the Plaintiff, including the admissability of the evidence. I'm assuming that the tapes would be inadmissable, which makes it a he-said she-said sort of war. I'd like to get a copy of O'Reilly's deposition, however. If he lies under oath and she has tapes, she could release the tapes to a reporter-sort of Monica Lewinsky style-and just kill him. I think he's playing with fire and his reputation.

The lawyers had better sit down and talk money pretty quickly or this thing could spiral out of control. I mean, what kind of life would we have if we didn't have BO to kick around? :) :)

Apparently unlike Florida (where you practice, Counselor, IIRC), New York allows one-party consent to recording telephone conversations (though that page introduces a caveat that I think would be inapplicable to this case, and I don't have the time or inclination to look up the actual NY Code).

If there are tapes (and the complaint certainly makes it sound as though there are), I betcha this case is settled for 7 figures and perhaps more. We shall see . . . This should be a good one!

Ack! I guess she'd do in a pinch, but she sure as hell isn't worth $60 million. Then again, I think I'd take a copy of Club magazine over oral from Monica Lewinsky, which cost the President an impeachment - God knows we men are not always well-thought-out when it comes to these things.
