I know your pain. This time the crews hit our neighborhood in the afternoon and were done by 8 or so. We lived in an area served by PSE when the inauguration day storm hit and we felt like the stepchildren. Our area was not quite dead last to get fixed, but it seemed like it. We hung around for 2 days but gave up when it got into the high teens at night with no auxiliary heat. I drained the house and headed for my parents. It was another two days without power for us.

everyone in the Pacific Northwest who doesn't have power, but are somehow able to post on here--do you have some idea when it'll come back on?

Smooth Sailing out here in Forest Grove. Don't think we lost power at all, lots of crap blown everywhere though..

Wifey had a heck of a time getting into work this morning however. Her restaurant is in Beaverton on Canyon and TV Hwy was a PITA with all the lights out.

Only restarants I can think of in that general vicinity are Hooters and Stars "Steak House". :Q😉 Not that there's anything wrong with working there. I've been to both and don't have any complaints.

LOL 🙂, no, my wife works at the Black Bear Diner right where TV Hwy turns into Canyon.

Snohomish Cty PUD says they still have ~13k homes without power. Overall, Puget Sound is "down" to roughly 400k homes without power.

Just about all of Alki Beach here in West Seattle is still without power.....
Ill be staying at a hotel again tonight, this is as bad as the hurricanes when i lived in FL...

hehe, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who didn't get power outage. The power the flickered on and off a couple times and that was it. I live north of Seattle.

I lived in Puyallup during the Inaugural Day Storm. That was really impressive. It hit on garbage day and it took several weeks for people to get their trash cans back. They flew halfway across town.

I've got a generator. It's been out about 52 hours or so, so far. It could be days or as much as a week before I get power. :| It's possible they could switch it on in the next day or two, but I'm not holding my breath.

Bryophyte, you still don't have power? I was without power for a maximum of a few hours I can't believe there are still people without power becuase of the storm.

Yep. I'm on a little coop (West Oregon Electric) and they're under staffed and have a whole town out of power. I fought with them to get them to move the boundary a quarter mile so I'd be on PGE, but they refuse to do it. :|

My parents and in-laws are in the hills west of Philomath and they were without power about a day and a half.

Bryophyte - Turn to channel 12 right now, if your TV is powered on.

KPTV just said your ENTIRE city is without power 🙁

North Plains? I don't live in Vernonia, I'm just unlucky enough to be one of a half dozen homes on the whole eight miles of our road to be on the coop that powers all of Vernonia. PGE got the neighbors a half mile down the road back on yesterday sometime. I assume you saw that Vernonia report too. What sucks is they said it'd be a week before that town was completely powered, so they could conceivably keep us last of the list and we'll have to keep buying a ton of gas to keep the damn generator running.

Oh that's right I thought you lived in Vernonia.

A Beaverton substation near 158th & Jenkins in Beaverton blew up and is on fire right now. About 40,000 people are out of power including Popeye's and CostCo.

Saw that when it was breaking news, it was pretty damn impressive. Wonder it it's gonna hit those huge tanks of oil on the site. They said it's going to burn another ten hours or so because it's safer than fighting it. MAX is down from the Beaverton Transit center to Hillsboro.

Small world! I was near Thrift on the O.K. highway🙂

We just got our power back on at about 10:30pm, Saturday night in Federal Way. It would figure too because we spent the evening driving around trying to find firewood for purchase. Almost as soon as we got a fire stoked in the fireplace, the power came back on.

There was also a house on fire about a block from mine here in Federal Way. It was a relatively small ordeal as house fires go, I suppose. The fire crew was on the spot in no time. There was no visible structural damage to the house from the front where I stood. I saw them bring out the resident's pet in a pillowcase, tho. Poor little thing didn't make it. He probably died from inhalation.

Power's finally back on in Factoria, as of 2:00am last night, after two days off. I think Des Moines may still be down (Zenmervolt) and I think it'll be another 2-3 days for Covington where my parents live.

Bleh, still no power and the water pump froze overnight because we didn't realize it was below 25 last night and left the generator off. Took awhile to get running water. God I need a shower. Tired of heating water on the woodstove to wash my hair, etc with. Going to have to go beg up a hot shower from a neighbor. Definitely going to have to get gas water heater and appliances when we build our house in a few years.

what you said...
We are looking to build soon, and this has made us acutely aware of the alternate fuel idea. Our house is electric only and the generator blew up on the second day.

Still out, since last thursday. :|

Only one good thing has come of this: we got a promise from our electric coop that if PGE agrees, they WILL sell the lines servicing the last six houses on our road to PGE. We've been trying for years to get them to agree to that. We got agreement from PGE long ago, and our coop refused each time.

Power finally came back on. Guess the screaming we did last night finally did something. I saw them come up and they had dispatched THREE trucks to fix it. As we told them, it was a five minute fix. They were not there long. Now I just have to wait for the water heater to get hot.

YAY!

I got my power back yesterday around 5pm. I had no power since Thursday night. It was pretty cold for the couple days it was out unfortunately. Luckily I live in the part of Woodinville that is pretty much Kirkland/Bothell so I got power. The rest of Woodinville towards Cottage lake is still dark.

It's the pits to be without power, but at least it wasn't below freezing the whole time. We lost power last year during January, with temperatures below 20 degrees the whole time. Some people were without power for over three days. Pipes burst and everything.

Still, in some ways, what you had was just as bad. No fun.
