Did anyone pick it up? Just played the demo and had a good bit of fun, if it was $10 I would have bit on it right now. Wondering how long it is and if it gets more difficult, I know it was the first three levels but they were beyond easy, even if fun.

It gets more difficult, there's bigger creatures like Ogres or something and more avenues to guard. I like it, it's a ton of fun and runs well on my laptop which is really nice.

I wont spoil anything for anyone, so im gonna have to be vague ;(
ive played about 6-7 levels. I found it to be pretty easy to play with the Xbox360 controller. Playing on PC version
gameplay is pretty good.graphics are cool.

i played on the medium settings. I found the game to be quite the easy. ill continue playing tonite to get more done. the traps ive gotten so far are pretty cool. I found i do more shooting/slashing, then with trap placing. that could be because i havent upgraded the traps fully. not sure. I think there is like 20 levels, so i have a ways to go.

I am recording the gameplay in MSI afterburner in hopes to put together some gameplay footage. but that is a pain in its own right

id say after playing it for an hour or so, that the price point is perfect. would have liked more starting traps, but they give you a new one every level so it works out fine.

Dont play on easy unless your testing out strats or something. i played for like 5 levels and realized why i got 2 on all those levels. Play on medium then try again on hard, to get the max skulls to upgrade your traps

hope that helps alittle bit

This game is AWESOME! Wow is all I have to say. This game is going to be the catalyst to spawn a bunch of spin offs because of its unique take on the genre. I played for four hours last night and it went by like it was 5 minutes. That hasn't happened to me in years.

Ditto. It's like Defense Grid for again, with more amusing in game dialogue.

Orc, the Other White Meat. :D

And yeah, ACT 2 steps it up a bit in the difficulty standings. It might be "easy" to get through a level, but in TD fashion getting full credit can be a real challenge.

I got about halfway through, then went back and five skulled all the starting missions so I could afford more trap upgrades. When you replay missions you get to use as much of the playbook as you have unlocked up until that point which can really change your strategy for a given level.

The game is not a $60 one IMHO - it's missing things like an endless mode where you could try out strategies, the ability to simply rewind to the last "checkpoint" (where you manually trigger the next set of Orc waves), stuff like that.

But so much damn fun.

It looks good and runs well. Some people have had trouble with pre-order DLC, but in game bugs seem to be at a minimum.

I'll buy OMD!2 for COOP. There is enough game here for me in Single Player for $15.

This game is GODLY.

I am concerned about the increased difficulty as the game goes on. But, I am sold.

Yeah, this game is just plain fun, and I feel like I haven't played a fun game in a really long time. Sure there are a lot of good or great games, but I don't remember the last time I played a game that was just so fun that I just sat with a stupid grin on my face while completely losing track of time for hours on end. Don't think it's happened for a decade.

What they need to do is create a level generator that creates completely unique and random levels for unlimited replayability. Custom user maps would be cool too. Then add in multiplayer/co-op and you have countless hours of fun.

Damn, I had the same reaction.

I am content that they polish this up and offer a little DLC and release a $15 sequel that knocks it out of the park. I want these guys to stay employed for a while and have a chance to enjoy their success :)

You know, I *enjoyed* Dues Ex: HR, but I didn't have this much fun.

I *had a good time with* DNF (leave me alone) but it wasn't this much fun.

Heck, I don't even remember some of the other games I played this year, quite an impression they made. Atomic Zombie Smasher, I guess, I did like that. Still, no where near the level of fun.

It's like when I am at a LAN with my friends playing TF2 and we are just having a blast and its gone from 6 PM to midnight in what I swear is fifteen minutes.

On the Steam forum there was a link to a developer tweat that indicated that PC gamers were killing 80k orcs per minute. Free DLC to all game owners at the 250 million Orc mark, which is forecasted to take one to three weeks :D

Heck, I message one of my buddies after a three hour gaming session, a good friend that also loved UT Onslaught and told him he had to try this game. I don't do that, normally.

Played the demo. It looks fun. Though one thing I hated was that you're forced to keep clicking the left mouse button if you wanna keep shooting. You can't just hold it down.

I'm probably gonna use an AHK script to fix this if I end up getting the game.

True. But with the crossbow, rapid fire gives near zero accuracy. No idea what the go is with the sword as really only use the crossbow. head shots are fun :) with the sword, you get hit and have to heal up often. The third weapon I have not bothered with so far.

Use the skill that allows for the sunsword (or whatever it's called). Can melee at greater range because the sword becomes a double-sided blade staff.

Finished the game last night on War Mage. About 5 hours. Love the game. Will be definitely doing the hardest level soon.

I'm not anywhere close to finishing it yet but already has great replay value, every time I get a new trap I can't resist not going back to earlier levels that challenged me to redo.

I haven't had a chance to check out the demo yet, the videos made this game look very similar to Sanctum, which I purchased during the Summer sale and haven't touched since getting the summer achievement.

Can anyone who has played them both comment please?

Well I haven't played Sanctum, but just watched some gameplay on youtube. Orcs is a much more polished game, where Sanctum looks like a first person flash game.

Game looks great. Unfortunately I already own Defense Grid and Sanctum, and I haven't had chance to play either of them yet (thanks Steam sales :p).
