Yeah, this game is just plain fun, and I feel like I haven't played a fun game in a really long time. Sure there are a lot of good or great games, but I don't remember the last time I played a game that was just so fun that I just sat with a stupid grin on my face while completely losing track of time for hours on end. Don't think it's happened for a decade.
What they need to do is create a level generator that creates completely unique and random levels for unlimited replayability. Custom user maps would be cool too. Then add in multiplayer/co-op and you have countless hours of fun.
Damn, I had the same reaction.
I am content that they polish this up and offer a little DLC and release a $15 sequel that knocks it out of the park. I want these guys to stay employed for a while and have a chance to enjoy their success
You know, I *enjoyed* Dues Ex: HR, but I didn't have this much fun.
I *had a good time with* DNF (leave me alone) but it wasn't this much fun.
Heck, I don't even remember some of the other games I played this year, quite an impression they made. Atomic Zombie Smasher, I guess, I did like that. Still, no where near the level of fun.
It's like when I am at a LAN with my friends playing TF2 and we are just having a blast and its gone from 6 PM to midnight in what I swear is fifteen minutes.
On the Steam forum there was a link to a developer tweat that indicated that PC gamers were killing 80k orcs per minute. Free DLC to all game owners at the 250 million Orc mark, which is forecasted to take one to three weeks
Heck, I message one of my buddies after a three hour gaming session, a good friend that also loved UT Onslaught and told him he had to try this game. I don't do that, normally.
