Nevermind the whole other political issue that we saw with the ACA: people are afraid of losing what they have for an unknown; secondly, getting more people covered (a good thing) means more people will be using local providers. I don't know if anyone has tried to get a new doctor lately or a specialist appointment, but the wait times can be long. They would only go up if access barriers are reduced and we don't dramatically increase the supply of doctors (largely controlled by # of residency slots set by Medicare funding, followed by medical school spots).

From what I've seen as a few states try to roll their own public option plans increasing the supply of providers, by both immigration and expanding our own pipeline greatly, is pretty much a prerequisite for any of it to really work as it should. I'd probably also want to cancel all medical education debt to cushion the blow to existing providers who are still debt burdened and would face hardship with lower pay scales.

This is so fucking dumb.

And we thought using sports drinks (Brawndo) to irrigate crops was dumb.

Breathe deep, while you sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep!

It's interesting (and speaks well to the competence of those involved) that most of the meta info regarding the description is about adoption tax credits.
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A PROCLAMATION 1.  Steel plays a vital role in the United States economy and daily life, Every child deserves a safe and nurturing home where they can learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Adoption makes that possible by opening the door to stability and belonging for children who need a family. During National Adoption Month, we commend the parents whose love has changed lives and the children whose presence has completed families -- and we recommit to caring for the many children still waiting for the comfort and security of a permanent home.Adoption reflects the deep value our Nation places on family and abundant life. As President, I am committed to empowering families who answer the call to open their hearts and homes to children. Through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, I made the adoption tax credit more accessible and expanded the child tax credit, helping remove financial barriers to adopting and allowing families to save more of their income to care for their children. While adoption creates beautiful new beginnings, too many children in our foster care system still wait for a permanent home. During my first term, I took monumental action to strengthen America's foster care and adoption systems by signing into law the landmark Family First Prevention Services Act -- the most sweeping reform of Federal child welfare policy in decades. This law utilizes proven intervention methods to keep families intact and prevent unnecessary separation. This term, I remain firmly committed to continuing this vital work alongside First Lady Melania Trump. Just last week, I signed an Executive Order on Fostering the Future for American Children and Families, to harness Federal support, technology, and strategic partnerships to provide young Americans in, or transitioning out of, the foster-care system with the tools they need to become successful adults. This effort is strengthened by the leadership of the First Lady whose work continues to uplift and protect the well-being of America's children -- ensuring every child has greater access to a strong foundation for the future. This month, we recognize the profound truth that all children are a gift from God, worthy of love, care, and family. We honor the parents and families who welcome children into their homes and provide the stability and guidance every young person deserves. Above all, we commit to protecting children, supporting those who care for them, and strengthening the pillar of family across our great Nation. NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim November 2025 as National Adoption Month throughout the United States. I encourage all Americans to observe this month by supporting children in need of a safe and loving home, uplifting the families who welcome them, and helping strengthen the bonds of family and community across our Nation. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand thisseventeenth day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth. DONALD J. TRUMP

$700k net worth to $25 million in just a few short years, and retiring after just enough time to qualify for pension.
Choice as in what would be covered in the first place: like it becoming more difficult to get an MRI for something, or maybe your choices would be 1 drug of 5 for a condition instead of being able to try all 5 to see what works best for you.
This has already pretty much been my experience under the system as it is.
"Oh, the insurance company needs you to try to this medication before they'll cover that medication"
"Your appointment for this scan is in five months"
"Yes, these claims are automatically denied, we've appointed a representative to reprocess them since they're valid claims" (every month, for over a year, part of someone's job was to reprocess valid claims that are automatically denied)

I wonder if i can request a specific pass that doesn't have the orange stain on it.

Sadly i am moving further away from many national parks (i think?), so i probably wont be able to take advantage of the park pass as much.

Is going backwards hard and worse... Trump wants to reinstate abestos...

If even Fox News is alarmed, you know that you f***ed up royally.

Definitely a 'dear leader' mentality being projected by Trump administration. Everyone including MAGA should find it disgusting. After all how does repulsing the world make America great ?

Just standard dictator stuff. Dear Leader has his image everywhere, to remind everyone that he's the boss of everything.

Well since Russia is the biggest international supplier of asbestos, it's not really that surprising.

An estimated 1.3 million metric tons of asbestos was mined in 2023. Russia mined approximately 630,000 million metric tons

How about... more poison?

EPA just approved new ‘forever chemical’ pesticides for use on food

The Environmental Protection Agency is moving forward with approvals for pesticides containing “forever chemicals” as an active ingredient, dismissing concerns about health and environmental impacts raised by some scientists and activists.
This month, the agency approved two new pesticides that meet the internationally recognized definition for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as PFAS or fluorinated substances, and has announced plans for four additional approvals. The authorized pesticides, cyclobutrifluram and isocycloseram, which was approved Thursday, will be used on vegetables such as romaine lettuce, broccoli and potatoes.

Well, time to stop eating vegetables.

What a clown this Hegseth is. The guy who whines about what the way medals are worn wears a US flag as a fucking handkerchief. I guess it makes it look like he has military ribbons.

He is being court-martialed for telling the truth! Threatening to recall a 61-year-old retired Navy pilot back to active duty. By Hegseth - An unqualified DEI hire who never saw combat. It's a clown show brought to you by everyone who voted for Trump.

Republicans: "Reciting the Uniform Code of Military Justice is punishable by death" Is it still a crime to remind Trump to not molest or traffic girls? Maybe Hegseth wants to make it a crime to say "Don't drink and drive" I'm actually surprised that no one on Team Trump realized attacking these Democrats for asking people to obey the law is a monumentally stupid idea.

The clear message is that the Republicans want military personal to follow all orders - legal or illegal.

So ... fucking charge them already. Pretty cut and dry if they broke any known law. But there won’t be any charges, because there is no such law. More political theater from the most incompetent administration in history.

Just remember the republicans led by dear orange stain is causing this bullshit:

Arguably this has also been spurred on by a sick news media that refuses to hold their own accountable. See people like Olivia Nuzzi, who was operating as an undeclared RFK Jr campaign operator while having an affair with him, and later helped get that clown into a position of power.

Republicans have blood on their hands, both from the numbers killed by the sudden cut to USAID and their undermining of public health for political power and to put wackos in charge.

Disease is the least of the serious problems a fascist government and society will cause.
Depends on the scope; after all if something like small-pox got into the wild with the current idiots running red states like Florida there could be millions or 10s of millions of deaths.

So right about now, a nationwide Parliamentary form of gov't would come in real handy where a vote of confidence could be held on one DJT and his passel of puke lackeys could possibly be run out of town on a rail.
