He had previously listed not paying interest on the debt as a potential "savings" he identified.

Astoundingly moronic.
He should really be put under a guardianship, because he just uses drugs nonstop and has no idea how anything works. He's a danger to himself and everyone else.

My argument was with overpopulation the resources, specifically medical resources get spread far too thin amongst the general population.

Why 'medical resources', specifically? Seems a very odd issue to single out. Does a country with a large population like, say, Germany, necessarily have fewer medical resources than a country with a smaller one, like, say, Sri Lanka? I don't see the logic there.

What perhaps does get get "spread thin" by increases in population is the supply of land, for housing or food-production, plus drinking water, as those things tend to be of finite supply, that people can't increase production of. But 'medical resources' can and usually do grow in line with population growth.

If they are 'spread thin', that's a political problem due to a failure of distribution, as a result of political choices...nothing to do with overpopulation.

I imagine it's more of Americans being unhealthy relative to people in other industrialized countries.

Heh, the Guardian really is bending over backwards to be fair to the guy.

But I guess one can claim not _everything_ the guy supports is bad. Just that the bad stuff clearly outweighs any positives. And will he actually follow through on the non-awful stuff?

America's medical resource issue, if I can think of one as it relates to utilization, is actually not enough doctors, and especially not enough in primary care. But all of that is gated by Congress and the way medical residencies are funded (hint: they haven't really raised funding for residencies, so the number of residents is relatively fixed). The supply of doctors has not kept pace with population growth. There is obviously also the whole other can of worms for how services and meds get paid for.

Only idiots would believe this. It's impossible to have remotely any kind of an investigation that turned up anything of substance in such a short amount of time.
Or by having people that have zero accounting background looking at stuff. They're not just going to touch the stove, they're going to touch the demon core.

It will be just like the justices swearing they would uphold roe vs wade and then voting to overturn it. Patel, rfkjr, ... will do exactly as they said they would do prior to reversing themselves to get confirmed; but the minute they are confirmed all hell will break out - vaccine will suddenly be found dangerous; the fbi will target everyone on Trump's hit list, cia and intelligence in general will be a thing of the past, ... to be honest i think only the defense secretary might balk at invading greenland or canada and if he does he will be fired.

There are billions squandered in defense spending. Even if we could completely justify every cent of the current $814 billion one year budget, I think it is still too much.

China has the world's largest military force, almost double ours, and yet only spends 1/4th what we do:

Why do we spend quadruple for 1/2 the force? I suspect we are paying far too much and adding the difference to our growing debt pile.
Google average or median salary in China, which is $4,000 US. If China's pay was on par with the US, their budget would be 15 to 20 times what it says it is in that article. that should tell you how full of shit you are. 27% of our budget goes to paying our military memebers alone, and they are underpaid in comparison to the average worker. We are also the most tehcnologicaly advanced military on the planet, which takes money in R&D to maintain. I guess the point is, stop sucking the junk of propaganda bullshit.

LoL fuck right off. Anyone living in Taiwan who wants to be a part of PRC can move to PRC.
Fuck off commie
Go bend over for Xi.. I hear he gives commie wusses some good wood.

My position is very simple.
Taiwan as per Taiwan itself is a part of China, so let it be, remove the foreign meddle and let the island be united.

They do this or Taiwan drops the ridiculous claim that it's the "true China" and the "true" government of the mainland. Give and end to this ridiculous delirium do please the meddling imperialists and declare indepence.
Than in this case I would support Taiwan and that both Taiwan and China keep being good neighbors with Taiwan expelling the foreign imperialist foot solders from it's land and seas. Because if you want to support Taiwan you can't do this while insisting that it continues being used as a foreign imperialist tool to harass a comercial rival.

The PRC is a corrupt kleptocracy.

You guys got it all wrong. Population density is a quality of life issue. Too many people and world is an overheated, polluted slum who are breeding faster and faster. Population must remain under control otherwise we have mayhem.

Population used to be controlled naturally over millennia by starvation, disease and war. These control measures have been thwarted to our detriment.
If that is factual, why does Denmark have the highest quality of life in the world, yet it has almost 4 times the population density as the US? Population density is not the problem my friend.. just another example of you latching onto falsehoods.

Strawman. You give me one example of "good" density and I give you an example of bad:

Yes, lets all live in a place where every square inch is fully developed. Its a wonderful quality of life in GARDI SUGDUB, Panama. If thats your wonderful vision of the future with 50 Billion humans in 100 years.... you can keep it.

In the meantime I will advocate for celibacy and responsible population growth.

You're so fucking dumb. Literally nobody argued for every inch developed. Denmark is not just cities you fucking moron.

Let me give you an example of how every single area of the lowest density in this country is the worst. The vast majority of people in the lowest density areas in this country vote for Trump, they vote for your party.

Clearly there's something defective that the majority of people living in low density areas turn out to be such terrible fucking people. Just look in the mirror man.

Actually, you are the one throwing around strawman arguments. Demonstrated by your picture and location, where you searched for an extreme situation, that fits your argument, where there are 1300 people in a space that is 400 meters by 150 meters. That is not a common accurance around the world. But yet, even with that, Panama as a whole is considered to have a high quality of life with a population density that is 1.6 times more dense than the US. You can go to any country and look for the uncommon areas, of a single small area and scream "look, see, I am right". But yet, we have places like Singapore, Hong Kong, Monaco, and areas in Japan that have extremely high population density but have high quality of life. Singapore is the most dense in the world, with 7595 people per square mile, and as of 2023 ranked 6 in the world for quality of life..

Hell, you can just look here in the US to show how fucking wrong you are just by looking at state rankings for quality of life vs their population density. Washington state, currently, is considered to have the best quality of life, where they have 103 people per square mile.. yet New Mexico for example has 17.5 people per squre mile and ranks 48th in quality of life out of the 50 states. Liousana has almost identical populatin density as Washington, and they are dead last in quality of life. Of course it all depends on who is doing the ranking, and what factors they are using to determine that ranking. so tell us again that quality of life has to do with population density short of rare extreme situations like you show in the picture above. Because you will just cement how ignorant and wrong you are.

The American people can no longer afford it. We must rely on others to pay for their own self defence.
The lesson of World War 2 was for us to spend that money, generate global power and global reach for ourselves. To line our own pockets and exert control over others. In return for this "generosity", we would never have to fight another world war. Those we vassalized would know to keep peace with OUR interests.

For example, Trump is threatening Panama.
You want to remove the Navy and Military force backing up that threat?
You want us to have no power there? Tell China to just move on in?

What else do you want China to have? In absence of the US, someone else fills that power vacuum and then starts telling us what we can and cannot do.

I believe Taiwan is a province of China and we should not interfere.
Ah, there you go. Answering a few posts below where I replied.
Sounds like you'd give China the planet if they could just reach out to grab it.

You cannot comprehend the power, wealth, and stability our global reach provides us.
You want a uni-polar world where others blackmail us and tell us what to do.
You have no idea how expensive that will be. Both in dollars and in new wars that we wouldn't be prepared to win.
