I think it would be rather amusing if they all accepted. Naturally many things would come to a halt and Trump wouldn't be able to replace their expertise.

The real question is just how far does trump have to go for republicans in congress to actually push back.
The whole point is to get rid of as many non-faithful as possible, so there's less blowback when you fire the rest.

A judge has already halted the freeze on federal grants/loans.

Now, we wait to see if it's ignored.

I agree that this will be stopped judicially. It'll just take time to work it's way up, and then to see if SCOTUS tries to keep some veneer of credibility and shoots it down something north of 6-3. The problem lies in how long that will all take and how angry a large majority (hopefully) of the country becomes in the meantime.

I wouldn't put it past them that they're actually hoping this causes widespread protests so they can finally invoke the insurrection act. We might be looking at a tighter timeline than even '30s Germany in that case.
Wonder if we can get a judge to put a stop order on any new Trump EO until the current ones can be judged for acceptability.

What a strange idea. Resigning under this program would be moronic. Note to federal employees: Don't leave your computer unattended for even a few seconds. The opportunities for mischief are epic.
Thinking about this some more, if you are a new hire, then absolutely take the eight months of pay and run for the door. Split the time between the beach and finding a job with a future.

If I read it right I think they can still make you work for the entire duration.

A lot of Trump's cabinet has still not been approved. He needs the Senate and Congress for a chunk of his agenda. Pissing off his allies is not going to help him.

And yes, more extreme things should be done, but Mike Johnson is up there on Shithead Mountain sticking his thumbs up his ass, so not exactly counting on impeachment for the moment.
The guy is a shit head, but he also did the right thing against his party a few times. So in a sea of shitty opinions, he is better than many alternatives.

I think it's extremely naive to even think he's better than any alternative. They have the presidency now and the Senate. Wake up dude this guy is full Maga. Mike Johnson ain't doing shit seriously how can you even think that.

In what I've come to know and expect from Trump and Co, everything is stupider and worse than I expected.
Would not have expected everything he’s done in this first week. Only thing missing is openly supporting Putin and other dictators.

Not sure how far this will be implemented.... but ya know.... Republicans really want to find out.

MAGA: School lunches? Just repeal child labor laws.
"When you talk about school lunches, hey, I worked my way through high school," said McCormick. "I don't know about you, but I worked since I was, before I was even 13 years old. I was picking berries in the field before we had child labor laws that precluded that. I was a paperboy. And when I was in high school, I worked my entire way through.

Pretty long list of exceptions. Shame - would have been funny if the entire military had quit - followed by the Canadians parking their tank on the Whitehouse lawn. Or better yet, Greenland annexing the East Coast. I presume the Secret Service are ineligible also?

except for members of the military, employees of the U.S. Postal Service, positions related to immigration enforcement and national security and other jobs excluded by agencies.

Holy cow, is White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt hard to watch or what? She is a more brazen liar and shameless propagandist than Trump himself. Amazing.

Yup

"If they don’t want to work in the office and contribute to making America great again, then they are free to choose a different line of work, and the Trump Administration will provide a very generous payout of 8 months."

Clearly they want people whose loyalty is to the Fuhrer, not to the country or the Constitution. Don't know why they don't just institute an explicit oath of allegiance to Trump and be done with it.

Just like the last one, blonde and oh so ugly on the inside.

The giant cross while supporting policies that are un-christlike in the extreme.

That giant cross really does get in our face, doesn’t it? I keep waiting for her to catch on fire from it.

Just another performative evangelical who completely misses the point of their faith.
And about the biggest insult to the world’s intelligence ever for her to brazenly just spout MAGA propaganda when she knows fully well that the majority does not buy it for a second.

This is all lies though. There is no payout - the actual offer extended is that individuals can work remotely until September and even that is highly questionable.

Man watching this RFKjr hearing and it's abundantly clear this man should be under the care of a team of doctors instead of up for a job telling doctors what to do. His voice also sounds like he's gargling cigarette butts with vodka.

Yeah, there's no way that someone that looks like they've already been dead for years should be making health decisions for the rest of us.
