Regarding impoundment there should be zero D votes for the next CR or any spending because Trump will break the law and negate whatever agreement the Rs make. The Republicans have the majority, let them figure it out on their own.

The should also use ever parliamentary maneuver available to stop all Trump confirmations in the Senate. Especially Vought.
There should be zero Democrat votes for any Trump thing, including nominees, until the impoundment stops. Grind things to a halt.

But with ranking members on the Budget committee doing "aww shucks" type messaging, I'm not confident that the opposition needed will be very solid.

Trump illegally fired NLRB members and now there is not a quorum.

I hope the union people who voted for Trump are stocked up on lube because they are gonna need it.

If Trump’s order is unconstitutional or against the law, why would they have to follow it? It’s like there is zero resistance to corrupt orders.

There will surely be a lawsuit but in the meantime open season for corps against organized labor.

He's winning.

He's doing what he likes.. create chaos and destroy stuff. Takes forever to make up a plan and build stuff.. but takes a second to knock it down.

The old adage is correct.. dems believe in government working but MAGA believe government doesn't work.. so they keep showing ways where it doesn't work in hopes of creating an anarchy where everything goes!

Interesting all these aid pauses, international, domestic... Israel, however, gets the spigot turned on full blast.
Only Nazis would be dumb enough to elect and cheer for a “ZOG” President who cuts off federal funding for American projects and only sends aid to Israel.

From what I’ve witnessed second-hand (via my wife) there are a LOT of upper/middle management at various federal agencies willing to rubber stamp the Trump agenda in order to keep their jobs. Let’s be honest—there are quite a few “tenured” Federal managers with 20+ years of experience who aren’t the best workers and are merely collecting a paycheck until the pension kicks in. They aren’t paid to stand up for Constitutional ideals.

I have a friend who worked in comms/PR at the VA who was laughing about keeping their job by becoming the VA’s official MAGA mouthpiece on Truth Social (yes—all agencies are going to be posting on Truth in addition to X.)

Don't need to repeal the ACA if you just impound Medicaid I guess.

There's going to need to be a reckoning about this and in short order. It is not just illegal for the president to do this, if the president did have this authority it is impossible for government to function as it undercuts the very basic principles of the Constitution. It is for all intents and purposes a line item veto.

Hey conservatives - this is a direct attack on the Constitution you claim to love so much. Surely you will join the outrage?

Imploding a ton of stuff that hundreds of millions of Americans depend on daily seems like it goes beyond stove touching, more like French kissing it.

What did you guys think a second Trump term was going to look like? Would have been nice to have a primary to pick someone who could have stopped it from happening.

A lot like this, which is why I didn't support him.

We did have a primary! I'm sorry you want to overturn the will of the voters but that's not how democracy works.

Bro, they were telegraphing this last year with impoundment and all the talk of unitary executive theory.

All that's left is for a lawsuit to make its way up to SCOTUS so they can put their "legal" stamp on it

The Supreme Court would presumably like to not be executed in a revolution. Though I assumed the same about the President murdering them so who knows.

And look where we are now with the Democrats hiding Biden's decline so they could get their handpicked candidate in instead of letting voters pick one.
