White House pauses all federal grants, sparking confusion

In a two-page document, Matthew J. Vaeth, the acting director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, instructs federal agencies to “temporarily pause all activities related to obligations or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance.” The memo, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Post, also calls for each agency to perform a “comprehensive analysis” to ensure its grant and loan programs are consistent with President Donald Trump’s executive orders, which aimed to ban federal diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and limit clean energy spending, among other measures.

remember a year ago when you said project 2025 was full of crazy and that it would never happen, and that you believed Trump when he said it had nothing to do with him?

what happened? You again forgot that you once knew about a thing and now that you have been once again proven wrong, it never happened?

and lol that this is exactly the opposite of what Trump said he would do because the public was vehemently opposed to all of it. That is literally what the mood was. Why do you constantly invent these fantasies in your head?

of course we don't agree with you because you are inventing your own standards. This isn't the law. You are simply wrong. The mere act of holding an opinion, as brainless as it is, does not give you some special value.

You are wrong. It is not possible to agree with someone that simply wants to be wrong about the topic.

I see some suggestions, in the reporting regarding the OMB impoundment order, that a mere delay in spending appropriated funds is legal. But that's not really true. The delay OMB has ordered specifically contradicts the Impoundment Control Act. A thread.

Regarding impoundment there should be zero D votes for the next CR or any spending because Trump will break the law and negate whatever agreement the Rs make. The Republicans have the majority, let them figure it out on their own.

The should also use ever parliamentary maneuver available to stop all Trump confirmations in the Senate. Especially Vought.
