Didn't see this one posted yet (hard to keep track). Hard to shed any tears over John Bolton losing his security clearance - in-fighting among the right is both amusing and intriguing, though.

How about Mike Pompeo losing his secret service protection, despite real threats from Iran. Biden kept those services in place and Trump just pulled them. I thought Pompeo’s lips were still firmly attached to Trumps ass?

Remember it's who the last person Trump talked to who has influence on him. You were thinking that Trump was logical and consistent. Now that's funny.

This should help with the food prices.

Growers and agricultural leaders in California and across the nation have warned that Trump’s promised mass deportations will disrupt the nation’s food supply, leading to shortages and higher prices. In Kern County this week, just the word of the deportations inspired workers to stay away from the fields.

“People are freaked out, people are worried, people are planning on staying home the next couple of days

So we can add fruit and veggies to the list of things to purchase before his policies take effect.

Did a single Trump supporter ever list their expectations of Trump in any sort of specificity?

Just an FYI to our maga friends:

Besides Trump already violating the constitution by rewriting the 14th amendment he appears to be going after government funded science…which is also prescribed in the constitution (article 1 section 8 clause 8).

And not a single peep from them about it. So I never want to hear from them complaining about anyone violating the constitution again because I’m not interested in their bs.

The problem is you were expecting anything decent out of any of those motherfuckers at all.

I mean that's fucking borderline Insanity.

One of Trumps executive actions was to pretty much shut down the Health and Human Services department including the US Food and Drug Administration, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and National Institutes of Health.

The gag order is on and only "Godly goodthink" will be allowed? Science disagrees with his ‘gut’ feeling lol!

The attack on public health is so weird to me. Education, sure - stupid people are easily manipulated. Stupid people can still work and make money to send to Trump and his minions. Stupid, unhealthy people, not so much. How does a nation of sick people help them achieve their goals? Especially since the precious children they always talk about will suffer the most?

Maybe the pathology is sick people can’t fill the streets, protesting you creating embarrassing photos that the entire world will see?

Changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico because he doesn’t like Mexico or Mexicans is weird too. Not surprising when you think about it I guess.
Probably been getting reports on the bird flu and doesn't want the thought of another potential pandemic screwing up his first couple of months.

I listened in to one of my wife’s work calls—she works for a sub-contractor. They’ve started having “pre-meetings” now prior to getting on calls with anyone in a government agency—these pre-meetings are to go over words/terms and topics they are no longer allowed to discuss on calls. If anyone has something critical to say about the Administration during these pre-meetings, they are being directed to turn off recording and stop any AI transcription services, lest it leak and jeopardize a contract.

This is how democracy dies.

I take some thin consolation in the humiliation of Trump's UK fanclub. Everyone who fails at politics here seems to gravitate to the US far-right, but Trump's moved on, found more glamorous and (more importantly) wealthier groupies.

There was Liz Truss looking like a cheap Paddington Bear in a blue coat and red Maga hat announcing her arrival in DC. Only to go mysteriously silent when she discovered she hadn’t made the cut. Not just to the Rotunda where the main action was being staged but also not to the overspill area in the Capitol where guests could follow proceedings on TV. Presumably Lizzie was left to watch the action on her phone in a McDonald’s somewhere downtown.

Then there was Suella Braverman. She was filmed arriving at the airport and was never seen again. Perhaps she had enough self-worth to fly straight home once she realised she was not wanted. Unlikely though. Also on the flight was Laurence Fox, who has abandoned acting for a career as a full-time halfwit. He filmed himself watching the inauguration on TV with the fantasist cleric Calvin Robinson in a hotel room. The sheer sense of pointlessness was tragic.

We must also not forget Nigel Farage. The man who never stops telling GB News he is the only person in the UK with Trump’s ear. I guess The Donald must have gone deaf. It will take Nige a while to recover from that humiliation.

It must have been even more galling for him that the only Brit with a seat in the Rotunda was Boris Johnson. That was bitter-sweet for Bozza. His life is going nowhere – his book bombed – and even the Tories have given up on him. Not wanted at home, barely tolerated abroad. Finally, this bunch of desperadoes have come to realise what the rest of us have always known: that Trump’s relationships are fickle and transactional. He has no need of the Brits any more. They are dead to him. He has moved on to the billionaire tech bros.

I've seen it from DHS, DoS, DoD, DoJ, and NASA. It's a form letter (likely came from above) with a word/phrase ever so slightly tweaked here and there.

we got the unedited version, I think. I hope it's unedited. I can't imagine anything more insane than the "official" statement that was sent to us that is supposedly professional.

it's like fucking tajmahal wrote it. Fucking cultists sociopaths. Not a measure of historical precedent or interest in real, legitimate policy. About 3 straight lies and some jingoistic nonsense.

This would be a perfect opportunity for the Europeans to pick up a ton of top shelf scientific talent.

Europe has a tiny fraction of the cash for science than what anyone can get in the US--and this is like anywhere else. They have some really big institutions in a couple of countries, but there isn't a whole lot outside of those where people want to be.

Most of the scientists that I have worked with over the decades are international students and post docs, and a few PIs. They come here for a reason and they often stay after their fellowships because while money isn't generally as good over there (Industry is also much more substantial here), positions are even fewer.

The thing that is going to send many of them away right now is simply Trump and this dunderheaded petty dissolution of the premier research institutions in the world. For a guy that wants to loudly yell that this country is number One, he can't seem to stomp on his dick enough to kill all the things that make us Number One. ...some might argue that he doesn't give two tits about this country. Don't you think?

I find myself frustrated by a lot of the people around me that "don't understand why this is happening." Yes, it's crazy...but also, this fuckstain has been yelling that he wants to do exactly this for 8 years now. They often joke that it can't be that bad and yeah, many come from much worse-off, unpredictable and unstable governments so they have real reasons to "trust" that things are always going to be OK in the US. ...and that's the thing about these MAGA terrorists. They literally don't know what they had and are hell bent on making this country as shitty as absolutely possible--for them as well. Which is fucking hilarious.

I still wouldn't rule out the possibility that the Supreme Court conservative (aka wholly-owned subsidiary of the Plutocracy) majority won't contrive to find some way to invalidate/erase that part of the 14th amendment. The fact that there's already an exemption for the children of accredited diplomats makes me suspect there could be some way for them to exclude 'undocumented migrants' as well.

Do you want me to post the verbiage of the emails that were released. Are you denying they showed intent to harm Bernie in the primary?

After seeing how the Democrats were deferential to Biden to screw us over this election, and seeing how they choose leadership positions such as screwing AOC for this guy who said well it was my turn!

It's pretty clear that Democratic party likes to control who gets into what positions.

I can post the emails and you can try to obfuscate if you want

repeating the same argument doesn't make the argument better, especially when you yourself can't really point to a thing that the democrats actually did to sabotage him. At the end of the day, Bernie didn't get the votes.

You're obfuscating within your own argument, about the point you are making where you already admit that you don't know if the democrats ever did anything to poor Bernie.

I guess one third can be considered a tiny fraction, a 50% increase the past decade and still expanding.. and we'll be happy to take your talent, 100%.

Did I mention the position comes with a unlimited uncapped healthcare program?

The Bernie election truthers are almost as tiresome as the Trump election truthers.

Bernie lost fair and square both times and in both cases it wasn't close. As you say Bernie's problem was with the voters, not the DNC.

also important to Remember that the "Bernie Bros" campaign was started as a Russian PsyOps project from the Fancy Bear twats. That's actually very true. It soon swallowed up a lot of real bernie fans and they continued to lose their minds over the whole thing as it grew on its own. They never had a chance to see things rationally once they went all-in on it.

Don't leave out that the Bernie Bro holdouts likely cost Hillary the election in '16 as well. We probably wouldn't be in this current situation if it weren't for their "contribution".
