Yea, I knew it was NYT, was trying for a different link. You know what I'm actually a little disappointed in him. If you're gonna outright loot the treasury you should make it worthwhile. Like at least a few billion dollars.

A facade is the exterior face of a building, serving both aesthetic and protective functions, while the structure is the building's internal framework that provides support. A facade can be a decorative layer on top of a structural one, though some heavy facades like brick or stone can be both. The facade is the first impression, handling weather protection and visual design, while the structure supports the load of the entire building.
It's next to the foyer. It's only facade when it comes from a specific region in France ...
What did you expect a troll to say ?Just the facade, right?![]()

Trump says he'd have final say on money he seeks over past federal investigations into his conduct
President Donald Trump says the federal government owes him “a lot of money” for prior Justice Department investigations into his actions and insists that any decision on a payout would “have to go across my desk.”apnews.com
@Greenman Trump saying he has the authority to decide rather or not to write himself a $230M check is this finally something we can criticize him on?
Maybe I can answer with a few ideas:![]()

Maybe I can answer with a few ideas:
"I never heard of this".
"He's not writing himself a check. Technically, the DOJ is approving a settlement and the Treasury cuts a check."

If the 2026 elections are even remotely free and fair it is going to be a bloodbath for the GOP.Dashboard warning lights continue to click on but Trump/Republicans are just going to ignore them all right up to the midterms.
You truly think they won't vote for them/him anyway? Or enough won't in relatively safe areas to make a difference? If the 2026 elections are even remotely free and fair it is going to be a bloodbath for the GOP.
Well Trump isn't on the ballot in 2026 but public sentiment of this sort is associated with very large electoral losses for the incumbent party and by next November I anticipate things will be substantially worse. You truly think they won't vote for him anyway? They are going to go VERY hard on suppressing opposition votes as that's their only hope. I guess we will see how successful they are.Oh 70% of you disapprove of how the President is handling the economy? Can I offer you a dank MAGA meme instead?
Non zero chance that 2026 could make 2018 look tame at this rate.
It would be funny to watch their new southern gerrymanders blow up in their faces.Well Trump isn't on the ballot in 2026 but public sentiment of this sort is associated with very large electoral losses for the incumbent party and by next November I anticipate things will be substantially worse.

They seem to be asleep at the wheel so far. If they get blown out in Virginia next month that will probably change.
Maybe. Or, they'll look at the NJ governor race being within ~10pts and say "remain calm, all is well".
NJ is complicated. Murphy’s low approval is a drag on the D gov candidate. Still think she wins there though.
